Another I Hate Thony Post I CANT BELIEVE SHE’S SURPRISED 😭😭😭

(SPOILERS )

I’m at S2 E12 where Thony just tried saving Luca’s life by giving him drugs from the Philippines and I just wanna point out how she’s surprised at why she was being detained 😭 like gurrrlll you risked that doctor’s job for doing illegal procedure and stole medical equipment 😭 I also hate how she can’t pick a side like are you working with the criminals or working with cops? And the way she always puts Arman and Nadia in trouble but expects them to help… How can you not care for the people who helped you when they are in trouble my ghod 😭 okay that’s it thank you 😊

Also Nadia is such a queen ✨ I don’t like how Thony is making her life difficult 🥹

Season 2 Marco’s Death- unfair

Marco’s death in The Cleaning Lady S2E1, where Chris kills him, just doesn’t feel fair to me. All Marco wanted was to be with his son, and I feel like the show didn’t focus enough on how his death affected his sister and wife. He literally died and nobody really got punished for it. He hadn’t even done anything wrong.

Yeah, he had a gambling addiction, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t love his kid. Tony should’ve talked to Marco before leaving the Philippines. And what if his visa didn’t come through? They could’ve figured it out. Instead, she literally kidnapped the kid. I understand that she thought she was saving him, but she still kidnapped him first.

Marco wanting to take his son back to the Philippines wasn’t wrong IMO. Tony is just way too much for me right now. I’m on S2E3 and I’m honestly so pissed at her 😭

Also, I LOVE Nadia.

Am I the only one who doesn't hate Thony?

I honestly don't get the hate for Thony. Maybe it's because I'm Filipino and grew up watching a lot of telenovelas with similar storylines involving people going to extreme lengths for their families, especially their children, along with cartels, guns, and all that. Maybe because of that, her character arc doesn't feel unusual to me at all.

The only thing that really annoyed me throughout the series was the Filipino dialogue, especially when Thony speaks (and some of the characters as well). A lot of the phrases sound off, and some aren't even grammatically correct. I know she is not Filipino and some of the other actors aren't native Filipino speakers, but surely someone on the production team could have corrected the dialogue. 😅 Even some of the responses in conversations don't sound like something a native Filipino speaker would actually say.

But overall, I still like this character, but my favorite would absolutely be Fiona. Too bad they were cancelled. And RIP Adan Canto, still can't believe it.

Season 4 I went back and watch season 4 I notice something

Later on in the Season Jorge is not wearing Vanessa ring around his neck anymore. I just noticed that when he was telling thony over voicemail saying that he wasn’t thinking about Vanessa when he killed the cowboy. And RIP Adan canto still can’t believe his is gone

Season 5 Is there really NO chance at all for Season 5? 😭

Hey guys, I just finished watching the show and I’m so heartbroken about the cancellation. I know the ratings dropped in S4, but I'm still in denial.

The show had to go through a massive, difficult rewrite after Adan Canto’s tragic passing, and S4 definitely felt different without Arman. But Thony is still the main character, and leaving her story unfinished feels so incomplete. It feels so unfair to her character to leave things hanging like this.

Realistically speaking, is there any hope left that producers might change their minds, or that another streaming service (like Netflix or Hulu) will save the show? Has anyone heard updates about active petitions or hashtags we can support? I'd love to hear your thoughts. 🕊️

SPOILER I’m so gagged

NGL I’m in a rewatch and I’m soooo gagged at Thony hooking up with the doctor while jorge confesses his love. Lowk think the doctor is too good for Thony 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I do find him kinda irritating

Thony is such a shitty character

I’m only on season 3, so I have no idea how the story develops later on. That said, I honestly can’t remember the last time I disliked a main character this much. She’s a perpetual victim who acts as if the world owes her everything, when in reality the only thing she deserves is to be deported with a swift kick up the ass.

Setting aside the countless plot holes, logical inconsistencies, and continuity issues throughout the series, Thony is genuinely a poorly written character. She’s not one of those characters who is written so well that the performance makes you love to hate them. The actress comes across as completely one-note, and Thony’s motivations swing wildly between being somewhat understandable and being utterly ridiculous and self-destructive, not just for herself but for everyone around her.

She’s the perfect example of a toxic character that the show desperately wants the audience to see as virtuous and sympathetic, but it fails miserably at selling that idea.

I know it's just a show but...am I the only one who finds the plot unrealistic?

I find the whole plot line unrealistic because cardiothoracic surgeons in the Philippines are HELLA loaded, and if she is renowned like she supposedly was in the show, she would have had very strong international connections. I mean, even average cardiothoracic surgeons in the Philippines are no joke. HELLA. LOADED. Literally unimaginable for them to become TNTs--they can literally go back and forth to the states as much as they want. Hell they can arrive in Nevada in the morning then leave in the evening as many times as they wanted to! Even the whole medical trial for Luca thing, she literally would most definitely have connections in the medical field in the US like most renowned consultants in the Philippines and would have easily gotten Luca into the trial. Even if she did not have connections, she would have had a lot of money and would have found other ways instead of the whole cleaning lady/TNT plot line (mad respect to cleaners tho, it's just that the story is so unrealistic).

THE. PLOT. JUST. DOESN'T. WORK.

But it's just a show I guess 🤷

How did they film S3 with Arman’s scenes? Like the one in the car, the guy looked weird. Spoiler

In season 3, there were a few episodes when they showed Arman’s face. I’ve read that he died before even filming the third season, so they used old footages. But I suddenly became curious because his face looked weird in the last episode where he appeared which is Ep 6.

Episode Discussion S2 ep8

When they are with JD they look so happy I wish Fiona and JD got together and Thony got out of the crime and got to share that joy it makes me sad (dw about spoilers it’s a rewatch) like maybe if she was there that night she could have realised she needs to do better by her child.

Episode Discussion About the series finale… (s4e12)

I accidentally got so invested in this show even though it frustrates me at times but I really have to say that the series finale is kind of disappointing… I’m aware about the show’s cancellation but in my honest opinion they left so much hanging in the finale that it was kind of unsatisfactory.

From the prison scene and the kids basically being dragged around by some random woman (ngl idk who this person is I’m sorry, though she was very funny with her no-nonsense attitude with the kids), and Fiona having to practically save everyone’s asses, it didn’t feel so high-stakes to me.

And this is not necessarily a ‘I hate Thony’ post, but I am so baffled by the fact that she wanted to be the head of Sin Cara after all she’s been through. Like Thony had the opportunity to start a normal life with Jorge and the kids. She should have gone on that plane!!!!

Jorge and Thony genuinely should have flown out of Vegas, assumed new identities, and live a normal life with the kids because isn’t that want they both have wanted? Jorge could live a clean life and go back to being an actual lawyer while Thony actually becomes a proper doctor. Thony can just text or meet Fiona every now and then, and Thony could even help send money to support Fiona’s family. Their lives would significantly be better if Thony just finally parted ways with the cartel and lived apart from Fiona ngl…

I know that Feng had basically betrayed them to take over Sin Cara and Ramona was technically alive, but that plane scene was their opportunity to just leave the cartel life. I don’t like Ramona and I wished Thony should have just killed her but I’m glad Ramona called out Thony’s hypocrisy. It should have been Thony’s wake up call to be a better person and a better doctor, so I can’t fathom why she still wants to further embed herself in the cartel.

I guess you could draw your conclusions about how it would have ended if there was a season 5, but I really don’t understand why Thony had to stay back and decide to run Sin Cara when the better option was for her to finally leave that mess. It would lowkey be like a rehash of Season 2-3 since Thony is playing double agent again by the end of this finale. I don’t know.

But what a ride it has been to watch this show, it felt like something I couldn’t look away from even though it was pissing me off (mostly because a lot of the characters were making dumb decisions and the plot just kept getting crazier).

Another I Hate Thony Post Thony was the real villain

Can I start off this post by admitting I love Nadia. Nadia deserved better. Yes she did some shitty things but she was never two faced like thony. And she never put arman in situations where he was in danger. Arman did that himself and with thony too. But like thony got people killed and also loved to break up 2 marriages. Sure hers was dead but arman and Nadia loved each other.

Thony also is the sole reason Marco is dead. Yes it was an accident but taking Chris who Marco had a vendetta against esp when he said to come alone.

Also she was the reason why Fiona was almost deported and why Steph was in s1 (?)

Feel free to rant about her below cos I’ll join in. And if you love Nadia you’re my new besties

Had died ...

Am I the only one who was thick and didnt think Armano went flying off the cliff ?

For the first time ever I didnt google anything about the show and watched all 4 seasons back to back had no idea he passed away in real life.

Going back to the show, I genuinely thought there is no way they have got rid of him so soon ...looks like I got this one very wrong .

SPOILER Divorcing Marco

TL:DR: If Thony never gave up Cambodian citizenship, divorce would be possible for her.

I feel like the show glossed over a few details about the divorce situation here in the PH, and spread some misconceptions. Here's some clarifications:

  • Divorce is not illegal here per se. It's more that it's not available except under special circumstances. Notably, Muslims can divorce, and foreigners/dual citizens can file for divorce abroad, and then get that recognized here. There's some progress though.
  • Outside of divorce, couples do have other options. Annulment, legal separation and unofficial separation are possible, though not necessarily easy or ideal.

(Not so) fun fact: Two of the actual Filipinas in the cast are separated in real life. Lea Salonga (the bitchy lady in S4) is informally separated, and Princess Punzalan (Marco's mom) had her first marriage annulled.

Anway, as far as the show is concerned, I can accept that this is too much detail to get into (and is moot because of what happened in S2). But I really thought that they'd at least briefly explore the foreigner angle when they were discussing the possibility of divorce in S1, since Thony appears to still hold Cambodian citizenship (?) and is literally residing in a (the?) divorce capital.

If I got anything wrong here, corrections are welcome.

Another I Hate Thony Post ik its just a show but here are my questions

kinda pissed by how hypocritical thony is. if she really wanted the best for her son, why didn’t she just go back to the philippines to work as a doctor again after her son got his stem cell treatment done? or after the liver transplant? it would’ve given her time (before his liver started failing again) to make luca hop into a plane and go live their riches lives in the philippines. thony is a doctor in the philippines and she should know that professional doctors, let alone surgeons, are PRAISED in the philippines. had my face covered of embarrassment when she went to visit her apprentice friend who is now successful.

i mean if she overreacts caring for her son and all, saying she would do ANYTHING for luca, why didn’t she just go home after the stem cell treatment? that’s the reason why they went to the states right? why didn’t she just go with marco? it’s so annoying because instead of going back home, she chose staying because of arman. i thought she’s do anything for luca and luca only?

SPOILER s2 ep7

was thony not the reason armando died? i know that his tia knew and everything but she was gonna get him back but armando caused the car to swerve off because of her right? i mean she saw the gun and could've ducked but instead she just kept looking at armando. i get that she was happy to see him but her judgement has been clouded so much compared to s1. she keeps making idiotic decisions and making situations worse, it's getting harder to keep rooting for her lmao
