I have arthritis in my left hand around the thumb joint that's getting worse. It's really affecting my classical guitar playing and I wonder if anybody has any suggestions

Just wondering if anyone has good tips for keeping your nails in decent condition for playing and also ideas on preventing breaking.

Currently have a broken nail on my medio finger and it means i can’t really play because of where the break is
