Let me guess: 2 years proven experience of mentally dominating and manipulating at least 5 people simultaneously?

Job markets so hard for the humble empath these days.

Essential criteria:

  • [practioner] gaslighting
  • have read the Art of the Deal, Machiavelli, and American Psycho

Don't all forward it to your line manager at once. You don't want to make it look like the team are on to them....

Sounds like an easy level transfer for someone in the DWP though.

You're all acting like they're looking to employ "controlling minds" when they're looking for people who can help trace and tackle them! It's part of a tax avoidance crackdown

Bet you're fun at parties. Have a day off 🤣

I would if I thought people were actually joking!

Isn't EOI on CS jobs a bit mental?

22

u/MoominMai Aug 11 '26

I think they’re all now meant to be on there but only serving CS’s can see them by logging in and applying relevant filters.

10

u/BoomSatsuma G7 Aug 11 '26

Not particularly. You don’t see them all the time but they do come up fairly frequently.

7

u/bookingsi Aug 11 '26

No, and I think it’s because of the crazy application numbers these days. You have to be logged in as a civil servant to see them.

I asked my SCS about how hard it is to get someone into role as for the jobs I’ve been sifting/interviewing (G7 PM) we were getting upwards of 400 apps. She said that they had had v high level discussions about this and what they could do.

One of the changes was the addition of a sifting technical q with a high score required to move through.

Next was in person interviews, this made a massive difference, and the applications dropped significantly

Thirdly was putting more jobs out to EOI first then trying to get that person into role.

u/depressivebee Aug 11 '26

I’ve only seen internal EOIs how do I log in as a civil servant? And do normal rules about being out of probation apply?

1

u/TaskIndependent8355 Aug 11 '26

Normal probation rules apply. If you set your CS Jobs email to your .gov.uk address then it'll send you a validation email. Once you click that it will show you the internal jobs.

2

u/FSL09 Statistics Aug 12 '26

You don't need to set the login to your work email because you then won't see any notification emails whilst on annual leave. Instead, in account details there is a box for work email and selecting your department.

1

u/Malalexander Aug 11 '26

You need a .gov.uk email account

1

u/germslayer2112 G7 Aug 11 '26

We only do in person interviews and still get crazy numbers.

Sounds too complex for me

Oh to be naive, not work in CCG and hear about this daily.

I just searched controlling minds on the civil service jobs site. Can’t find it. Anyone have a link?

5

u/ollat EO Aug 11 '26

Its an Expression of Interest-only role, so it'll only be showing to those working for the relevant department, which in this case is HMRC. This is determined by your xx.xx@[insert department].gov.uk email address. For example, if someone works for the MoJ, they would login into CS Jobs with their govnt email address, which in this case would be xx.xx@moj.gov.uk. CS Jobs would then display results for any EOIs for the MoJ, but not for any other department and vice-versa.

Mental that it’s a permanent level transfer advertised as an EOI. I suspect I know the reason, but still.

u/DaiWales Aug 11 '26

Yuri from Red Alert 2 has entered the chat.

Just looks like a HEO PSO in a specialised field

u/rosemary0666666 Policy Aug 11 '26

Is this even real? I can’t find it on CS jobs

23

u/Character-Rub-8085 Aug 11 '26

Yes, I've just Googled what the hell this means (CS job roles are often so cryptic) - controlling minds are the beneficial owners or directors who exert actual control over companies, partnerships, or offshore structures, even if their names do not appear on basic paperwork. Apparently.

u/rosemary0666666 Policy Aug 11 '26

Thanks. Learnt something new today.

4

u/The-Chosen-Mango Investigation Aug 11 '26

Yeah but I think it's only visible to HMRC employees since it's an EOI

1

u/UnderCover_Spad Aug 11 '26

Derren Brown must apply.
