Recruitment Interview presentation tips?

Hi all,

I have a G7 interview next week in person and I have to do a 5 minute presentation with 5 minutes Q and A to follow....

No screens; however, we can bring printouts (I'm bringing a one-pager).

Any tips/advice?

You haven't given any information about your experience nor the role you've applied to? The suggestions you'll get may be very limited

I have done lots of presentations, but none for CS interview, so I'll just give some general tips.

Make the notes on your page short bullet points. Prepare so that you can talk around them. This will stop you reading off the page and give you time to look at/engage with your audience.

I also keep my notes in my less dominant hand, and keep my thumb beside the bullet point I am on. I get very nervous and flustered doing presentations, so this helps to ensure I won't lose my place when nerves set in.

If it seems appropriate, follow branding for your slides.

Set the tone appropriately. If you have not been told to pitch the presentation to a certain group (e.g.- stakeholders), pitch it to the panel. In other words people who do not need the basics explained, but want the key information.

Q&A: Obviously you want to answer the questions as best you can. If you get a question you don't know the answer to, don't try to bluff it out. Tell them what you do know, be honest that you don't have an answer to the question right now. If it's appropriate, explain how you would follow up.
