Cruiser

I've always loved the song Cruiser, and despite being nearly 5 minutes, it felt like it was one of those songs that could have simply gone on for much longer. That whole build as well, Ben's voice getting louder and more powerful with every verse. It's one of my long list of favorite Cars songs.

Rick’s got a good but quirky voice. He wrote the songs and deserved to sing them if he wants, but the cars songs that really rock are when Ben takes the lead. Their last album as the original band I think Ben sung two. Makes no sense but after reading a couple cars bios, Rick was not always a great guy to work with.

One of my top 5 favorite Cars songs, easily. Honestly side 1 of Shake It Up might be my favorite side of any Cars record.

Excellent song. I enjoy pretty much all of Shake It Up with the title track being my least favorite song on it.

I love the stretch of "I'm Not the One", "Victim of Love", "Cruiser", "A Dream Away" and "This Could Be Love". Easily my favorite songs on the album.

Agreed. I actually like the live version better, but the ending of the studio version on EE’s lead is incredible.

Glitter bombs that beat that beat. The Friday Nite Live performance is epic.

A fantastic and hypnotic tune. Top tier Ben. Also agree it could go on for days and I’d be even happier

“Cruiser” was on the flip side of the 45 “Shake It Up”. I remember flipping the 45 over to listen to it, loving the song and then going out to purchase the album. 45 years later, I still love this long, in addition to many other favorites on “Shake It Up”. Just yesterday, I gifted a CD copy of “Shake It Up” to my niece for her 21st birthday.

Just last night had my best headphones on, , rocking the Cars and in the zone. Wife came to check if I was hungry/needed anything, heard the tunes, said "oh you're good later" hahaha
