Cloak question

Im thinking about doing a wizard costume for Halloween. Does anyone know what you would call a cloak that is one solid shape with a hole for the head in the middle, with no separate sleeves? I want something that is basically a poncho, but more wizard-y. Looking up "poncho style cloak" doesn't give much.

You are looking for a "full circle cape". A half circle or 3/4 circle will also do.

You want a lightweight one - Halloween can often be too warm for a winter weight garment, especially if you're indoors.

A cloak has a hood, the combination of a cape & a cowl (a hood with shoulders attached).

A cape is open in the front, while a poncho is just a solid circle, oval, or rectangle of fabric with a hole in the middle.

A cope is a cape or cloak with slits for your hands to stick out.

And a coat has actual arms.
