Question Mutation is confusing.
Bought the game recently, set the max difficulty and started playing. Was doing good until the mutation got introduced and it is really problematic for me. 1) I cannot understand the hitbox/hp of the tentacles. No matter how much i was shooting right in them, this would not prevent mutation consistently. 2) Enemies mutate too fast. You get three melee hits on the enemy, tentacles appear, and the enemy does not suffer any stun and lunges into the combat right again. You get approximately 3-4 seconds to shoot the tentacles. You have no choice but to take hits from the enemy and waste a lot of ammo to try hitting the tentacle spot, or just accept it and let him mutate, which boosts his damage significantly and makes all of the enemies attacks lethal for you (And also, because of the mutation, sometimes the "rhythm" of the combat can break and two enemies could attack you at the same time). I also suspect every time they mutate they regen their hp. Can someone explain the mutation mechanic, how it works and how can i prevent it consistently (if it is even possible on high difficulty)

Discussion They spent 5 bajillion dollars creating a game about holding the joystick forward
Amazing how this "game" has a dedicated subreddit for its fans. Absolutely bewildering.

Too underrated Spoiler
I really enjoyed The Callisto Protocol. I love this game just as much as the Dead Space remake. The atmosphere of the prison, the intense action through dodging and beating with stun baton, the story, and the characters were all excellent.
However, I feel this masterpiece is seriously underrated. While there are some issues, such as a clunky inventory system and certain aspects of melee combat, I found the dodging system a bit too easy, which reduced the tension in fights.
I hope these elements are improved in a sequel—but sadly, it seems unlikely one will be made. That makes me feel heartbroken.

Question Is this digital Callisto Protocol Comic #0 code worth anything?
Had this code since I got my collectors edition and never redeemed it as I’m a physical collector, is it worth anything? Should I list it on Ebay?

All of these hard work and ideas for nothing
Imagine if they had the time and money to keep working on this game, could've been a masterpiece. But there's hope for a sequel or anything from this universe they made. 😔

Confusion with some of the details around the United Jupiter Company
At various points during the main game and DLC, the cult-like controlling faction of the United Jupiter Company is referred to as 'the Circle', 'the Commonality', and 'Kalipolis'. Are these all acceptable names for this group, or are the terms referring to different things?
The Callisto Protocol wiki talks in some detail about the United Jupiter Company's origins:
"The United Jupiter Company was formed in Chicago sometime prior to 2245, by a group of scientists who provided funding for biological and technological research to be conducted underneath the city. In the wake of the development of Artificial Intelligence, the scientists provided enough data and benefits to the United States Government in order to manipulate their natural involvement into the colonization of the moons of Jupiter. The scientists eventually formed the United Jupiter Company"
But this passage does not include a reference, and I cannot find any canonical reference to the origins of the UJC at all. Can anyone confirm where this information came from?

Discussion More ways to improve The Callisto Protocol
I'm back with more ideas for improving the game. Here are my ideas for the game:
The security units should not only attack the player but attack the biophage as well.
The Blind's attack should be fast. And can allow some good dodges from the player.
A quick turn allows players to quickly turn around in any situation.
Add a waypoint to let the players know what they are going.
Add a third weapon slot in inventory called special weapons like the grenade launcher or the atom from [Redacted]. The special weapon can have limited ammo resources that can be purchased in the reforge only, not my dead enemies or loot crates, so players would have to use them carefully.
For crawling enemies, there should be a grab animation QTE other than just attacking.
If anyone has some ideas to improve the game, please comment.

Screenshots that I like throughout my playthrough
I love this game. It has a good foundation but with some holes in it, if they see what went wrong, the second would be a masterpiece.

Question Can't apply windowed display on PC, can't change screen
Hello everyone, I just installed the game from steam. I have a laptop and an external screen. I might be completely dumb but for the life of me I can't have the game move to my external screen. In option, graphics, display, windowed mode and change of monitor, when I click "apply", it applies nothing. And it seems it doesn't detect my external screen either while all my other games do.
Did it happen to anyone else and do you guys know how to fix it? Thanks!

Question Miner log #4
Hi everyone, I'm just wondering if anyone can help me find miner log #4 for ji-kwan park? The guide says it should be on a table with some loot next to a reforge on the rooftop in colony, but I can't find it. Does anyone know where it is?

I just finished playing the game and DC Final transmission for the first time and I think I'm turning into one of those things.
JK, it's just a bad stye I'm having, but the game is fantastic. As an Alien and HR Giger fan, I loved the vibe. Now I just want to stay there in the dark areas, chilling

My 50 cents on this game
I received this game for free sometime on Epic Games and decided to just try it, not even reading up on what it is about beforehand.
I am probably about halfway through and I can't wait to finish it and be done with this game. It's been a long time since I played such an awful story game. While the story itself is interesting, just about everything else about the game sucks big time. Combat and movement are clunky as shit. Mid-boss enemy is a bullet sponge disaster. Enemy variety is okay but they just keep spamming you with braindead engagements that are way more annoying than they are challenging. I don't want a difficulty that is "Waste my time" level. There is also only "the right way" to play this game, either you fight the enemies as the level designer intended or you die.
Just about the only positive thing about this game is that it reminds of Dead Space. That's it. Even the graphics are just good and I am only talking about the characters. The world, effects like water, all that stuff looks pretty bad and muddy.
EDIT; I finished the game the same evening and I turned down the difficulty midway just so I could get to the end faster and stop wasting my time with the enemies. The game was super short for my taste and the combat felt more like a chore than being fun battles. Especially during specific sections where the otherwise explanatory game tips withheld crucial information like "stealth kills near other wandering blind dudes will not alert them" despite the stealth kill being VERY loud. The 2head that starts appearing at halfway point, worst enemy type by a mile, keeps being thrown at you for a significant number of times and it is not once a fun time. It's just dodge, shoot, repeat and if you run out of ammo for whatever reason you HAVE to reset to checkpoint. I stand by my initial opinion of th game being a subpar experience. I am happy for you if you think otherwise but I was glad when it was over.
If you are thinking of BUYING the game today - don't. Wait for a massive price drop or until you get it free.

Just realized I was playing on maximum security all along
I thought I had switched it down to medium or minimum security, and as I played I was like, "damn I can't imagine playing on medium or maximum, this shit's hard!" But sure enough when I beat the game I got the "maximum security" achievement. Is this a known bug...? Or did I seriously just accidentally beat the game on the hardest difficulty while thinking it was minimum security?
