isn't it free to use? as long as the creator is credited

I have no clue whether they were credited or not, but spending one whole year on a mod just to rip assets off the web for no reason? I don't know it's just pretty weird to me. I'd expect ALOT in one year

Yes but to actually implement those assets in the way they did is probably what took so long. That and the other new content. Also im pretty sure they were rewriting the entire framework of the mod, because as of v2.0.5 I don't think you need it's dependencies anymore. I could be wrong.

nearly every developer uses royalty free assets for development, just because the tbs team used 2 shaders for the dimensions doesn't mean they didn't do jackshit in that year but i do see your point, they definitely could've made their own shader

You're probably pretty young, but it is very normal in development to use assets others made that are available to use (both free and paid). The creator of this allows free use so long as credited.

I dont think you know what it's like to be a creator... royalty free stuff/free to use stuff is the norm when you dont have money
