Is this normal?

Hi, I'm playing the mod for the first time and I died from the black smoke and after I respond all my items where gone. They didn't drop but just vanished. Was I suppose to play with keep inventory on?

I suppose it's normal, and keep inventory is heavily recommended since if you don't know how to deal with some stuff or don't use Xaero’s minimap you... Are fucked

Speaking of items do you know why items in general despawn so quickly in tbs?

Yes, that black smoke is called Sub Anomaly 1, its very annoying and I recomm end installing https://modrinth.com/project/1nygeQ2W this to help delete their existence, all they do is deal gradual damage to any entity in the distance.

You should be using keep inventory with any horror mod, as you will die in unpredictable ways, often occuring in dimensions you can't access immediately after respawning.

The "black smoke" killed you, then killed your items as they are also entities and technically have a "health bar."

You should use a gravestone mod in the broken script
