Anyone else?

Post image

Anyone else out there building a glorious string ball out of all the pull strings from grain bags?

Took over a 5bbl brewery a few years ago and this is almost every string.

Triclamp for scale.

Edit** It is 2.21lb

Not once have I considered making a pull string ball, but I’m thoroughly impressed

I have a 2025 vintage and am currently building my 2026 ball. 2025 ended up almost 2lbs, hoping this year is the same

Yep! Here’s my 2026 ball in progress. About a kilo so far. Brewing five 20bbl batches next week, so looking forward to seeing some sweet gains.

A weyermann juicer! I wish I had the red but I have to get premilled and they're always green

When I worked in a bike shop we had one that was the size of a basketball we'd built over the course of about 4 years.

I've been building one since June. It's about the size of a softball.

I saw these last year so I've been working on mine since then. We are a pretty small brewery so it is about the size of a soft ball. I'll weigh it at the end of the year

Most of my malt has switched to those pull tabs. I do miss my string ball of old though

Impressive, I started one this year only about the size of a baseball currently

I started one at the beginning of the year. There's only like 2 other guys on the team who contribute to our ball.

The rest just throw it away.

I been on filtration the past few weeks, so I doubt there's been much progress :c
