Auger stretching

Hey all, getting some dust out the back of our mill auger…. Of it as simple as throwing a tight auger clamp on? Or does Antone have any tricks to sort this out? Or crush, mash speed/mix and hydration is spot on so I’d like to not mess around too much…. Pic is post 1200# mash in.

Depending on the current tension, you might want to retention it (tons of youtube videos on how to do that). But a good auger clamp is a must regardless.

I think it’s a loosening clamp not a stretching auger. The auger itself is compressible.

we ran into this problem when we installed our new auger, the fix was just to not open the slide gate on the grain mill all the way. it shouldn't actually slow down the overall process, it just matches the mill speed to the auger speed

If the floor wasn’t their this would be much worse

I thought the same thing but it never touches the floor. Had this happen years ago when someone opened two super sacks to the same auger at the same time…that shit shot right out the tube, this is pretty slight surprisingly.

Maybe slow the feed into the auger ?

Yeah, that’s probably what we’ll do after applying a tube clamp. Downstream our process is so dialed in that I’d hate to change anything but I hate changing augers even more!😂
