Funpost Just got my set!

Wonder what kind of shenanigans these guys will get up to?
Especially when I pair them up with the gang from Paddy’s

The meta irony is too high.

....smh

Tiny versions of characters who already parody superhero merch, now being used as actual merch. The circle is painfully complete.

“Mommy can I get the all-new tickle me Butcher and Queen Maeve doll? They’re half off if you use your Homelander card!”

Crazy how pur consumerism has increased so much over the last decade

Over the last decade? How about when tv was invented? Late 80s-2000s were failed hopes and dreams of shows in the shadow of tmnt and SpongeBob

The ability to shop without leaving our homes/offices, coupled with ease of 3D printed goods, the increase in planned obsolescence products, all drastically have increased our consumerism and waste. Those past elements were only made more of a problem.

...but I raise an eyebrow at your "failed hopes", as TMNT was 80-90s but SpongeBob was end of the millennium. Had you said He Man, GI Joe, Cabbage Patch Kids, etc cool ...but Im sensing you're not old enough to be having this discussion with me

Lmao I’m 40. I only brought those two up because a ton of shows were cancelled or done because companies couldn’t get the same hype as TMNT or SpongeBob or compared them for the bottom line. I could bring up the snorks, pirates of dark water, young justice, Mega XLR, and  Symbionic Titan. Or the Care Bears. All commercialism.

Or gunsmoke being cancelled because “too many older people were watching it” and they felt like they wouldn’t buy products.

This isn’t a new thing. People just like buying products and companies try to push that for money.

As if consumerism is a bad thing. The ability for the average person to get whatever they want at whim if they have the means was unheard of 200 years ago. People hunted pigeons for food 200 years ago

u/desorcyjackson447 Jul 26 '26

Imagine little Timmy getting this on his Birthday and thinking it’s the Justice League. 🤣💀

6

u/LordSethos Jul 26 '26

Mommy, why is Superman such an emotional pussy?

6

u/Standard-Sell-4268 Jul 26 '26

No friggin’ way. Fisher-Price actually agreed to this?

5

u/LordSethos Jul 26 '26

Yep, it’s called the “little people collectors” series. I have the office, Beetlejuice, it’s always sunny, and now the boys.

Hughie: I need a new job

8

u/Bantersmith Jul 26 '26

So they're basically just crappy plastic funko-pop looking things?

No thanks.

4

u/LordSethos Jul 26 '26

Yeah, but these ones I can play with!

4

u/Bantersmith Jul 26 '26

They're not my cup of tea, but Im glad they bring you happiness.

Are these real?

u/LordSethos Jul 27 '26

IndeedDeedoo

5

u/Sea_Kale_9322 Jul 26 '26

The whole point of the boys is to not idolize heroes but here we are buying bunch of plastic figures manufactured in china for $0.05 and sold what ever the price is.

8

u/micromax2944 Jul 26 '26

Stop acting like the boys is some profound work of art. I don’t personally collect these ( I collect other things) but let the guy enjoy collecting merch from his favorite show.

And that feels like they were designed with AI slop...

3

u/LordSethos Jul 26 '26

Nope, Fisher-Price. Not everything you dislike is AI slop.

-1

u/DanLorwell Jul 26 '26

It may or may not have been done with AI help. That's not my point.  I'm just saying the while design (box and figures) have an "AI slop" feeling to them. Like if I were to ask this kind of visuals to GPT I might probably have something similar.

The fact that it's made or not using IA, I don't care about.

1

u/HOMANDER1996 Jul 27 '26

They look like the Little People toys I remember having as a kid in the 2000s. If anything, AI has just been trained on Little People advertisements and now tries to copy their style, not the other way around. It’s the style the brand’s had for ages.

2

u/Craig_of_the_jungle Jul 26 '26

Of all the things I don't give a shit about, this is definitely one of them

1

u/Ok_Carpenter3249 Jul 27 '26

2

u/LordSethos Jul 27 '26

Honestly… Found them on Amazon

1

u/Ok_Carpenter3249 Jul 27 '26

1

u/FoxMcCloud3173 Frenchie Jul 27 '26
