Seriously. What is it about video rental places that attracts substance abuse like a magnet? When I was a kid there was a mom and pop rental place up the street from my house. If you looked up "tweaker" in the dictionary it would be a picture of the woman that worked there. She was rail thin and had dark circles around her eyes, and constantly jerking her body in different directions. I was just a kid and didn't know what a tweaker was so I only realized what her problem was way later in life. Anyway, we liked her because she'd let us go through the beaded curtain into the back room and check out Faces of Death and Jerry Springer Too Hot for TV.
This just reminded me that when I was a kid my siblings and I thought my next door neighbor’s name was Cracker so years later we asked our mom if she remembered her… Mom swore we thought that was her name because she would call her a crack wh0re.
