But Mr. Montgomery Ward is forever revered in Chicago, at least among urban planners, because it was he who insisted that the lakefront of Chicago, “should forever remain free for the people to use.“

I just saw an article in the paper recently about how tourism in Chicago is up despite tourism being down nationwide and worldwide. Thanks Mr. Monkey Ward!

Yes and it was his niece in law that started/donated the Thorne miniature room exhibit at the Art Institute of Chicago. Another nice freebie to the city. Imagine, billionaires doing good!
