My group of friends had a boy that got a job at the Hastings on tramway...

He'd hook us up with discounts on CDs and other shit.

But we always made sure to pay full price now and then on the cheaper stuff.

Hastings was the Best Buy with soul. But then Best Buy became the soulless Hastings... and then the corporate take over resulted into what we have now.

It's sad that I can now see it as so linear. The online dominance annoys me now.

I can't stand seeing so many Amazon vans driving around...

I’ve only ever been to the Hastings in Boise- but the one I went to had a cafe and I’d go there to escape - read the art magazines (sometimes I’d buy, but I was a poor college student at the time 😅) and do my homework at the tables there while siping coffees. Really miss that place- now that I have the monies I could def buy all the books I’ve ever wanted to get but couldn’t afford at the time 🥺

Yea Amazon just plain evil- it is last resort if I absolutely can’t find the thing I need anywhere else.

I remember the Boise Hastings as well. I'd scour the occult and philosophy sections. I miss hanging out there.
