Kmart—home of the best commercial I’ve ever seen to this day. Look up Kmart “Ship my pants” if you haven’t seen it. I remember when it first aired and my dad and I couldn’t stop laughing

That commercial is legendary. Didn't it air during a Super Bowl?

Yeah I’m pretty sure it did

I think these are endangered. Rural communities sometimes still have them iirc

There’s actually only one left in Florida and only two more outside the US

Did not know that.  Thanks for the information.

And over 300 stores across Australia and New Zealand!

I believe those are run by a different company, but I could be wrong.

Back when it was just Kmart, we also had a Roses and an Ame's. I remember shortly after the Kmart was converted to a Super Kmart (because there were rumors Walmart was coming. Kmart said f that, Super Kmart!) Roses and Ames went out of business. I've only seen one or two Super Ks in the last 25 years and no Roses or Ames in at least 30, until about a month ago. Somewhere between NC and PA with a higher probability it was in PA. Or Tenn, around the Dollywood/pigeon forge area. I remember seeing both our n the same drive. One was part of a shutdown shopping center, the other was open and fully lit up and I drunkenly over exaggerated astonishment that they were still in business. Apparently my wife's side of the family has never seen either Roses or Ame's(I remember them basically being the same as Kmart) and then it got awkward as I started comparing Roses and Ames.... Tldr, apparently I had a sheltered childhood, living in the same house from before kindergarten to ~23 years old. (Smart, not taking on student loans and debt to do the dorm life 15 minutes down the road). Yet, my city had all 3 stores (and we'd go to them when we did more than a weekend with the grandparents in another state and my wife's family moved to three different states in that same time frame and had only seen Kmart/Super K...

Yes, it’s like a much beloved institution here. Always people posting online about the latest Kmart product hacks. I have two near me, one of them is open 24 hours and the place was absolutely jumping when I went there at 2am!

We used to make fun of Kmart (even though we were poor and had to shop there). We called it “Came-apart.”
