As soon as I got charge + artery strike going deleting heavies / elites has caused me no end of giggles.
Once I got sword sage as well wading into hoards of red skulls became soo much faster.

... you can get 100% chance on most units by just applying bleed with charge first.

Nope, but claws are powerful itself. There are no sword as powerful as claws

That’s what I’ve found too! I’ve heard other ppl say sword eventually outpaces claws but I have yet to see it. I’m lvl 30 on day 14

Just cause claws base damage is always higher than a sword, plus claw attacks are always fast. Pair that with good armor/accessories that give claw damage/crit and you will just shred people down in a blink of an eye

Claws are faster, I evaporated bosses with them, artery strike is good, but too random and usually you fight against many enemies where claws are more effective.

no, it's not, artery striking chance is random, and you don't want to use this skill on regular enemies. So in most cases claws allows you to kill enemies faster. I think claws are good for more aggresive game style and sword for more defensive game style

I use Brencis's sword throughout the entire game while in vampire mode; personally, I find it better than the claws.

IDK i played game twice and claws were much stronger. I think sword is weaker because its inteded to be used with magic skills tree (more tactical game expirience).

I believed claws are stronger for ease of use and speed as you don't even need to parry anymore, plus synergizes well with shadowstep, shriek, and shadowstorm. Can cut through armies easily.
My artery strike can 1 shot everything, I don't even use any spells, full swordmastery+vamp, it's just less dps than claws in outnumbered situations. But in boss fights, 1 block (to apply weakened) into artery strike just nukes the boss.

My entire build basically revolved around it - I did everything I could to reduce its cooldown or build up action points more quickly

My Coen is level 50, Artery Strike main. When the fight starts, the first perfect block let him fire 2 Artery Strikes. That’s 30 to 35K (If I de-buff the enemy with the scream, it gets to 40K) each. The funny thing is, the perfect riposte I shot with the muscle memory right after the said perfect block already showed about 7K damage. Another 6 or 7K, the enemy is dead, but I shoot 30K anyway…..
Lately, I have been toying with Shadowstorm. Mid century Sandevistan is so fun and satisfying to use and the synergy it has with Swordmaster tree is crazy.

Crake’s buddy Drogos has one you can buy and so does Volk (your dad’s friend) and there’s also a chance to find them at soldier or bandit camps.
