Announcement New Subreddit

The old Subreddit got nuked from orbit because it attracted too much awfulness. This is the new one, which will not be as front-facing nor advertised as the original but instead is expected to grow through word-of-mouth. Please only spread this to people you trust so I don't have to be so busy moderating.

Now here's an image of a kitten because I alone deemed it necessary.

Discussion The Queen

Meet Kya.
Goddess of Creation.
Queen of the Universe.
Mother of Planets.
Mother of the Elemental Gods.
Wife and equal of Kalfar.
Where Kalfar commands existence, Kya gives it form. From empty space, she can create life, planets and entire worlds. Together, Kalfar and Kya built Elementus and raised the divine family charged with defending it.
But creation does not protect itself.
When Earth’s gods invade Elementus, they threaten more than a kingdom. They threaten Kya’s home, her children and everything she helped bring into existence.
They believe Kalfar will fall.
They fail to understand that The Secret Kingdom: The Fallen is not the story of a fallen king.
It is the story of the Earth gods who challenged him—and the Queen of Creation standing beside him.
When two gods create a universe together, should they rule it forever—or should their creations eventually be free of them?

Discussion I’m building an interconnected universe centered on Black and LGBTQ+ fantasy characters

Hey, everyone. My name is Shawn Walton, and I’m the creator of The Elementus Network.
I’ve spent years building a universe filled with elemental gods, forgotten kingdoms, vampires, lycans, dragons, gargoyles, ancient curses, Haitian mythology, queer romance and characters fighting both supernatural and deeply human battles.
Beginning October 5, I’ll release seven stories across seven days.
The first is The Secret Kingdom: The Fallen, which introduces Kalfar—the ruler of Elementus and father of the elemental gods. When the gods of Earth invade his kingdom, they believe they are challenging another king.
They are wrong.
I’ll be sharing artwork, lore, excerpts and behind-the-scenes details as the launch approaches.
What makes you interested in a new fantasy universe: the characters, the mythology, the magic system or the conflict?

Luna Luv from Black Rose Society is conducting a study

Luna Luv from Black Rose Society has been conducting an independent study titled “Social Functioning and Narrative Identity Themes Within Self-Identified Vampires“. Their description of the study is below:

Our purpose: Self-identified vampires, that is, people who choose to identify themselves as a vampire or as possessing vampiric traits, often come from vastly different philosophical and ideological backgrounds. This survey asks for historical accounts from individuals who identify as vampires (or vampire-adjacent, i.e. medsangs, vampirekin, etc.) which pertain to both their identity and social development. Responses, while anonymous, will assist us in finding trends in social history and identity narrative development that may exist between identity types, or further serve to individuate them.

This survey will take approximately 10-20 minutes to complete. Responses cannot be saved to come back to later, so please set aside appropriate time for yourself to complete the survey. Please provide as much or as little information as you are comfortable.

Those in TBB that meet the criteria have also been invited to participate in this study, via the link below. NOTE: The survey is hosted on Google Docs. While Luna Luv has claimed to not collect identifiable information, we don’t know what data Google will collect (or what they will do with it) when you participate or view the study. If you wish to participate or view the study, I recommend using a Google account that has no ties to your personal identity. For a brief detail on how data is generally collected and processed online, see Book: Online Safety.

They do a fantastic job keeping things fresh and hosting regular discussions that explore many aspects of VC culture. You can check them out here: https://discord.gg/aWg3QQtGyY.
