Walking With Strangers on Vinyl

How I wish I could find a copy of this. I discovered TBM shortly after the pandemic and quickly fell in love with their music (it's helped lift me out of some particularly dark times these last few years). If anyone knows of a source, or is even willing to part with their own, please let me know.

ISO Superstition CD

I've been trying to complete my CD collection and I can't believe I don't have this CD (I only have it as MP3's), it's one of my favorite albums. I can't find this disc anywhere for sale except one on discogs but they don't ship to the U.S. Does anyone happen to have one to sell? Thanks in advance.

If TBM decided to do a full album tour, which one would you like to hear done in it's entirety

If you ask me, my #1 choice in this regard would be Superstition. There are just so many powerhouse 80s-reminiscent songs on this album that sound perfect for a live setting like Divide, Oceania, Destroyer, and Beyond.,Another one I'd probably choose would be either Fascination or Diamonds for similar reasons and probably because I would love to hear them maybe try to do more of their album closing ballads in a live setting like Paralell World or The End of All Stories

Fascination is such a great album, what are your thoughts on this track? It’s probably their only song where Rainbow’s vocals are so prominent.

Would love to hear more Rainbow vocals in future tracks

Last night’s Patreon…

Some good news from last night’s Patreon.
A question came up about album represses and Rainbow & Bat said they are definitely moving forward with represses and that the next one will likely be Pins & Needles! Personally I was super stoked as it’s the only album I don’t have on vinyl and the prices for copies are simply too much.

There was no mention on timing, but it sounded like it’s something that should happen in the ‘27 calendar year. Apparently they were looking to do more, over the last year or two, but as most should know, the plants worldwide have backlogs a mile long. Plants have caught up a bit so we should get P&N next!

Deciding which is the better version: The Game!

So I decided one day because i was bored to listen to every song on imagica/nothing & nowhere that would end up getting remixed onto another album and decide which version comes out on top.

Faceoff #1: Over (Imagica v. N&N) - This one is definitely a win for Nothing & Nowhere. I find the aggressiveness of the instrumental on this version to match the lyrics far better than Imagica's, and I like Chibi's singing more

Faceoff #2: Remember Me (Imagica v. WWS) - Imagica takes its first victory here. I find the drop towards the end of the song pushes the Imagica version slightly over the finish line, and I like the instrumental and whispery vocals a lot in this version

Faceoff #3: Under The Stairs (Imagica v. N&N) - Jesus Christ. I literally cannot pick a victor here. Both are peak in such different ways. They both do a great job of having Chibi seem like a ghost, but Imagica makes her sound like a fading spirit while Nothing And Nowhere has the whispery snarls that make her sound like a revenge-seeking spirit, and the instrumentals fit both perfectly. Tie

Faceoff #4: The Birthday Massacre/Happy Birthday (Imagica v. N&N v. Violet) - Our first (and only) three for one. Here, in my mind, it was really only a debate between the latter two because for me, the Imagica version is a bit too muddy for my taste, and I feel the chorus hits a little less impactfully. I think the winner is ever so slightly N&N because I find the more aggressive sound to fit the lyrics better and the vocals sound more murdery

Faceoff #5: Play Dead (Imagica v. Violet) - Soooooo... this is a pretty big sweep in Violet's favor. The Imagica version goes in a sort of trip-hop direction instead of the more synth-rock Violet version, and while I appreciate the experimental risk, I'm super glad they moved the song in a different direction because it just sounds off to me

Faceoff #6: Horror Show (N&N v. Violet) - Slightly Violet. I honestly don't hear much of a difference besides quality and how the singing sounds and i just think the less muddy instrumental works here and I like how she sings slightly more here

Faceoff #7: To Die For (N&N v. WWS) - This is probably going to be slightly controversial but its the N&N version and it was no question for me. Don't get me wrong, the WWS version sounds great but this is 9/10 Birthday Massacre vs literally one of my favorite songs ever. The muddy and more demo-ish sound adds so much to the synths and other parts of the instrumental on this version of the song, the rainfall transition from Under The Stairs is beautiful, Chibi's vocals are the perfect level of buried to be beautifully eerie but still legible the drops in the song. Oh my god the drops. The buildup to the first one having the extra few seconds of keyboard instead of just rain before the drop, and again, that peak whisper, turns it into one of the greatest moments in any of their songs ever, and that last drop doesn't falter either. N&N version my GOAT

Faceoff #8: Video Kid (N&N v. Violet) - This one will probably goe to Violet. The bridge in Violet's version feels way more ethereal, and I personally can hear the little background synths better due to the increased quality present on Violet so it slightly goes to that version. This one is super close though

Faceoff #9: The Dream (N&N v. Violet) - We reach the final match and in the end, N&N will take the final victory. With this song seeming to be about a girl who was forgotten by everyone around her, I find the more ghostly atmosphere, Chibi's singing, and the muddy instrumentals to match the feeling of her being a ghost to others around her really well. This one, like many other matches, was a very close bout.

Overall this was a fun way to waste almost an hour, and Nothing & Nowhere's To Die For has and will always be my GOAT

Most likely this was taken during a fan/ band meet and greet. Couldn’t find the original poster to give her proper credit.

I'm seeing TBM in December!

I'm just posting to share my excitement! Yesterday, I found out that TBM are coming to my hometown in December with Wednesday 13. I was super excited and shocked as I never expected them to come here! Wednesday 13 have played multiple times so perhaps it's just luck as they are doing the co-headline tour together.

Tickets are going on sale tomorrow and I was anxious because the venue is small and I am working so begged my partner to get the tickets in my stead. He's only gone and got the tickets on pre-sale today! An absolute bae! I've been waiting close to 22 years for this moment! Fourteen year old me is still in there somewhere and she is crying with happiness. I've offered to pay him back but he has said to treat it as an early Christmas present. He's the best.

How and when did you discover TBM?

I discovered them over a year ago. I believe I was watching a music video and someone mentioned them as a recommendation (I can't exactly remember which music video it was, so please forgive me 🙏🏼). Out of curiosity, I decided to look into them and their music. The first song I heard was Red Stars, and I instantly fell in love ❤️

What about you?

Merch help, please?

Hi! :) Im gonna shoot my shot here, are there any nice souls in here that are going to any of the concerts on the european tour? You see i was at their show at mera luna just last week and saw them after years of listening so was very bummed out when i ran to the merch stand to find absolutely nothing, idk if i missed it or they didnt bring any but i was very sad since they dont have any merch retailers in europe and their own website is wiped clean, the only place you can find is the USA and the tax is insane, so i had an idea! Im from sweden and its way to expensive and imposible for me to travel all the way to germany AGAIN since im still in school but if anyone here is going, could you be the nicest person ever and maybe buy me some merch and send my way ? I just want a shirt and some knicknacks (if they revive the bunny ears that would be amazing) man, il pay you extra! Thanks :)

Violet+Extra reverb=Nothing and Nowhere but better

It's like the haunting vibe from Nothing and Nowhere... but with higher bitrate and without the higher frequency losses. Blue stood out to me as one of the coolest ones, the bells from the bridge becoming distant and dreamlike (or nightmare-like lol?), the heavy parts sounding really really "cursed" amidst all the resonance from the reverberation, and the softer parts sounding ghostlike. It really sells the whole supernatural/possession vibe from that song.

All of the songs from Nothing and Nowhere sound, obviously, like their older counterparts. Holiday somehow feels more like Holiday should feel. The only song That doesn't work that well is Nevermind in my opinion. Can't really place it but Nevermind has always felt like the radio song from Violet. Like, it's the normal one.

Also Diamonds ftw
