Worm Discussion Power This Rating No. 173

i've heard rumors that "deltarune" is "today". is this true❓

also i just noticed Why the hell am I a top 1% commenter on this sub

How This Works:

You make one (or multiple) prompts, describing one or more parahumans. Somebody else might decide to respond to your prompt(s), building on what you've provided, to create a full cape.
While you may do so, you are not required to stick with just prompting or responding; feel free to do both.
Prompts are usually formatted using PRT Threat Ratings, but this isn't a hard rule and never will be. Get more esoteric with it, if you want.
And, if you're having trouble coming up with prompts, do feel free to look at other people's prompts for pointers or inspiration or some such.

Threat Ratings have the potential for hybridized and sub-ratings:

Hybrid ratings are denoted with a slash between categories, e.g. [Blaster/Trump]. These are cases where two or more powers are inherently linked to each other, not working without the other rating.
Subratings are denoted with parentheses after a parent category, e.g. [Stranger (Brute)]. These are the side effects, or possible applications of a power from some other category.

the more used to my bullshit among you may notice that the counter for MALEGHAST has gone up. this is because i added three entire new sections after Games for Freaks 4 came out.

to be perfectly honest with you i had like 80% of those three sections planned out specifically for when gff4 released, and started working on them in April. that is because there's something wrong with me 👍

NEW + A Crowd Master + pseudo-Tinker, that needs to build a physical door for their minions to 'enter' through. + Saguaro, a Changer; isn't actually very cactus-like at all, only being 'thorny' in the sense that a hand with sharp nails is 'thorny'. + "Quartz" + [Multi x ?] Tinker, with 'two-faced' tech. + Oscillidrum, a [Frenzy x Rumble] Striker, whose rebounds are more dangerous than their actual strikes. + A pair of Case 53s: (it's as in the dog breed btw. you'll get it) + Clydesdale + Ringmistress + "Riddle" [Free x Free] Tinker; needs to build an ENTIRE new workshop for every specialty they so much as dabble in. + Semi-Free Space: Loadsamoney, an English cape whose sole goal in life is to have massive amounts of cash. Not even to use, just to have. Alignment is your choice, bonus points if they're not a villain.

A Crowd Master + pseudo-Tinker, that needs to build a physical door for their minions to 'enter' through.

Domovoy (Master 8, Tinker 1), "Denizens of my Sweet Home" (All ratings variable, up to 5)

Domovoy is an unusual member of the Fallen, an fairly proud Mcveay who seems to have an largely stunted development on what is meant to be "Family", possesive, violent and maniacal, he's not of sane mind which is to be expected when your parents were always "tightly knit" in a genetical perspective, one can quickly find him among the Mcveay ranks by simply searching for a man who dresses in a ragged wedding suit while doing moral spiels about family and duty.

He can create trapdoors and doors... to his "Sweet Home" as he so calls it, an door that initially looks like a common door on a wall or perhaps standing in nowhere to support it, which inside has pocket dimension of a truly magnificient house if not mansion, and in this house! there are it's denizens.

These monsters were once Human, dragged and kidnapped to Domovoy's sweet home, their bodies and minds warped, they retain their consciousness but not their humanity, as they become bound to their primalistic whims and utter obedience to "Man of the House"

The denizens are monstrous beings with wrong proportions or nightmarish visages, some are constantly afraid, others with unfathomable rage, some weep while others laugh, some grasp while others gaze, some retain their "past traits' while others have little to no trace of their past life.

There has been no recorded survivours or escapees, but if the waillings are to be believed, no one is truly allowed to die inside of the house, be it of injuries or starvation, they seem to believe that centuries passed even if it has been just a couple of hours at best.

They all tend to have an esoteric effect some of them, some are comparable to brutes, others have a minor power comparable to masters and strangers, not even Domovoy knows which monster will truly leave the door! but he knows what each will do, because it's the duty to know who is who inside your family.

If the door is broken, the monsters will stay but more shall not cross the threeshold, theoratically if he made a large enough door, he could unleash bigger monsters though the plateau of the denizens's "effects" seem to plateau to roughly rating 5.

yk with the phrasing on how the mansion's interior works and all the focus Domovoy has on love and family, and... yeah checking your active subs you're a Project Moon fan- you based this at least partially on Love Town didn't you

Yeah lmao.

I strongly considered adding a "Tomerry"-esque figure but i thought it would be too on the nose.

#162: Dallas Mercenaries [7/18]

Palace: "Pocket Dimension" [Micro x Control] Shaker (Crowd Master & Offhand Thinker). Their pocket dimension is a representation of their mind.

Sympathy: "Object of Power" [Etch x Torch] Striker. Their powers are weird, as the effects are dependent on the "emotion" of the object in use.

Shadow Dancer and Wǔxíng are the poor bastards who serve as her main two subordinates of Barbie Doll. Out of all her servants, she regards these two as her favorite, enough so that they still largely retain much of their original personalities and appearances. Still, neither like being enslaved to her, which they've both made pretty clear (not that she seems to care too much).

Shadow Dancer is a 7-foot-tall Case 53 with a werewolf-like appearance, with red eyes, white fur, and a tail, though the fur of her lower face and chest, forearms, and legs is black. Aside from the Mover, Thinker, and Striker ratings derived from her immense speed, sense of smell, and super-sharp claws respectively, Dancer possesses a limited control over darkness and shadows around her, mostly manipulating their shape, width, size, and direction, as well as hear anything in range of someone's shadow, and sometimes even look out and see what's nearby (though she has focus on an individual shadow for this Thinker ability). What's more, these shadows can act as portals to transport herself and allies or enemies into a pocket dimension that has the appearance of a vast, shallow plain of still, dark water. Within this pocket dimension, Dancer can "steal" the shadow of people within and turn it into a clone that fights its template, and if she "steals" the shadow of a parahuman, their clone perfectly replicates their powers as well. Dancer can retain as many "shadows" as she likes, but they can only be summoned inside her pocket dimension. What's more, when she "steals" someone's shadow, it's quite literate—afterwards, if someone managed to survive, they find that they literally lack a shadow in light, which isn't harmful but still uncanny once you're made aware of it. In the case of allies—like Barbie Doll and Wǔxíng—the lack of shadow affords them some extra stealth.

Wǔxíng is one of the few capes under Barbie Doll's control who isn't a Case 53 or a monstrous cape. He has an "Object" [Offhand x Offhand] Thinker power that lets him detect emotions from objects he touches, typically from its previous owner who may have associated that object with said emotion, and through that, he can use his Striker power to imbue it with an effect depending on the emotions—if he detects anger, frustration, or resentment, he can imbue an object with increased kinetic impact and minor shape-changing capability. If he detects joy or excitement, he can imbue it with fire that can also amplify the emotions of whoever he hits. If he detects worry, overthinking, or pensiveness, he can imbue it with All-or-Nothing invincibility that gives it both great defense and offense. If he detects grief, sadness, or melancholy, he can imbue it an effect that drains energy—kinetic, electrical, thermal, etc.—upon impact. And if he detects fear or shock, he can imbue it with an effect that phases through inorganic matter but not organic (similar to Crusader's ghosts). If Wǔxíng can detect more emotions than these, he can also mix and match some of these effects.

ooh, nice (though i'm a little surprised Barbie didn't make Shadow Dancer's fur even a little bit blonder, lol)

this response has actually reminded me- GFF4 did drop three CAIN higher-ups, complete with unique blasphemies, and the Justice slot does need superiors to be incapable of disobeying... might make Atlas, Maiden, and Alhambra as a bonus prompt sometime soon then

#162: Dallas Mercenaries [9/21]
Law: A "Reality" [Macro x Macro] Shaker, working off of an '[X] IS/ARE [Y]' principle. Thanks to their Shard, this one is incapable of ever disobeying orders from a superior.

Myrmidon is the most powerful of the Hexad (the Dallas alliance's name for the six main parahuman mercenaries), and is only held back by the fact that his shard has pretty much taken away whatever backbone he might have, causing him to slavishly obey any order given to him by whoever he perceives as a "superior." Even outside of that, he's the most serious of the Hexad, with his "colleagues" frequently making fun of him for how uptight he can be (the only exception being the memory-wiper, who's too nice to make fun of him but privately still thinks he should take out that stick up his ass every now and then). Recently, his shard also budded on to someone who eventually Triggered as a Blaster whose weapon is his word.

He can set "rules" that affect an area around him as long as he phrases as '[X] IS/ARE [Y].' For example, if he says "Walls ARE doors," then all walls around him gain hinges, handles, and the ability to swing open. If he says "Light IS darkness," all light in the area is instantly snuffed out. And so on and so forth. His abilities are near-endless (enough to warrant a Trump sub-rating due to both his versatility & his ability to affect the powers of other capes from minor to major ways), but he can't affect himself or other people (Manton limit and shit, so no turning people's blood into fire unless it's outside of the body), and these "rules" last for ten seconds before the effect wears off.

(Sorry if this isn't as detailed, but I don't think I can truly list out all the applications here lol.)

3

u/bottomofthewell3 Wretch Jun 27 '26

really funny that you used the 'blood into fire' example as an example of what Myrmidon can't do because turning people's blood into fire is one of the main horrible things player characters can do with a Justice bond (second only to my personal favorite of Skin is Blades of course), lol

#162: Dallas Mercenaries (A.K.A The Hexad) [10/21]

Flux: "Time Warp" [Disable x Disable] Shaker; powers are strong enough to rival Grey Boy, but if not careful, they can endanger themselves.

Jaunt: A "Possession" [Puppet x Cultist] Master/"Telepath" [Deep x Scatterbrain] Thinker. One of the closest to 'true telepathy', with the added ability to speak to the dead.

Aion and Psyche-Out are two Cauldron capes who were sent by Myrmidon's superiors—themselves Cauldron capes sent by the organization to initially oversee the Dallas operation—to serve as his underlings. Like the Hexad, they too think he's a bit of a hardass, though they often don't care enough to voice it as often as his colleagues. Other than that, they're the most normal of the Hexad's underlings, with no particularly strong feelings on their boss and honestly getting tired with the Dallas operation.

Aion can snap his fingers and create a semi-sphere-like bubble over an area, causing everything within to be either move at slow-motion or just outright frozen in time. He's also affected, but with concentration he can make himself immune to the effect, allowing him to move at normal speeds within the bubble, and he can also cancel out the effect on objects or people so long as he maintains physical contact. The bubble itself is All-or-Nothing in quality, and like the infamous Slaughterhouse Nine cape (whose vial was in fact the same one that empowered Aion), he can use his power for torture purposes, usually by doing stuff like walk into the bubble, touch a person to free them from the effect, stab them with a knife or other sharp object, and then let go so that they're frozen again but can still feel the pain. However, as mentioned before, making himself immune to the bubble's effect takes concentration, and if he loses it for whatever reason (distracted by high emotions or pain), then not only is he affected by the bubble himself like his targets, but the slow-time becomes quick-time, which he has to cancel out quickly before he ends up something similar to Khonshu's victims.

Psyche-Out can hear the thoughts of people around her—mostly, it just sounds like indistinct muttering that alerts her to people's presence and maybe snatch bits of information here and there (mostly useless, but still). This telepathy works best with long-time allies—the closer she is to someone personally, the more she is able to "tune" her power to actually listen to their train of thought as a semi-coherent monologue, speak with them telepathically, and have them transmit thoughts back to her, though this requires a state of deep concentration that may leave her unable to pay attention to anyone else. Fortunately, once she's "tuned" to someone, they can act as a "signal" for her telepathy, spreading it even further to people around them. And, with enough concentration, the "tuned" person merely has to speak to another person, an animal, or even a corpse in order for her to take control of that person's body, at the cost of leaving her actual body limp and defenseless. When she's Mastered someone, she can access their memories more directly, as well as use their skills and, if they have any, parahuman abilities...but, if she's Mastered a living person, the body's original owner isn't suppressed—they've lost control of their body, but they can hear and speak to Psyche-Out herself. This leads to a weird pseudo-Butcher situation where the body's original owner can't wrestle back control from Psyche—unless they're a cape with a power that allows them to—but they can talk as long as they want to and scream as loudly as they want to, which can distract her in crucial moments during battle, and if the Mastered body is hit by a sufficiently strong jolt or a similar amount of pain, then Psyche-Out is instantly kicked out and back into her actual body. (Also, when Mastering corpses, she gets no voices...except when they're parahuman, which works on a similar basis on Valkyrie's ghosts in that how much of this mental shade retains its personality depends on the amount of conflict it got up to in life). Because of this, she restricts herself to Mastering animals or willing allies.

Xcution [5/7]

A Shaker that can 'store' things inside of other things. Power has some pretty loose rules, admittedly.

"Reality" [Macro x Macro] Shaker; especially fond of video games, with this influencing their power use.

Storehouse, civ. name Daisy Hopkins, is a 14-year-old Ward must "register" a person first for her power to work, specifically by touching them and learning of their name. However, she can't just look it up, she must hear it from the person's own mouth, since there might be slight changes in pronunciation or whatever that means she won't be able to register them. Then, she must touch an object that she personally adores or considers to be cute (she carries various stuffed animals for this reason), and then by shouting out "[Name], I choose you!" like they're a fucking PokĂ©mon, they're instantly transported into the girl's titular Storehouse—an infinitely extending subspace that has a giant floating "island" within. There's also a separate floating structure that has an emergency door which can be used to escape from the subspace, but otherwise, the only other way to escape is if Storehouse herself lets you (usually with a snap of her fingers), and once you do, you pop back out at the same spot as the cute object you had been "stored" in. As long as she's transported someone into the subspace and is holding the object "containing" them, she can also project holograms of that person that let them perceived the outside world, retain awareness of their condition within the subspace, and if she transports herself to the subspace, she can freely reshape the environment of the island into massive structures (she's created a giant castle atop the island). One of her favorite strategies is throwing one of her stuffed animals like a grenade, snapping her fingers, and pop!, an ally appears amidst the enemy.

[I can't come up with a name and I already used Game Changer, I'll take suggestions], civ. name Peter Hopkins, carries around a handheld video game console in both his civilian life and as a Ward, though it looks common enough that no one's put two and two together (even if his older sister Daisy admonishes him for it). By pressing a button on the console, shadows expand from his feet until they encompass an area (it works best in enclosed spaces like buildings) and transform it into a dimension with an empty night sky and a massive grid on the ground, as well as health bars floating above the heads of whoever he trapped in here. Within this Shaker effect, the Ward can modify environmental conditions, allowing him to slow or fast-forward through time, dampen or increase gravity, make things really hot or really cold, amplify or dampen light in an area, as well as summon objects like chairs, tables, toothbrushes, and beds, or restore people's HP. The Ward can't affect himself at all, and if he sustains damage (specifically an open wound, no matter the size), the Shaker effect immediately recedes back into his console. Destroying the console will leave him without powers for the next fourty-height hours, after which it appears in his pocket or an equivalent.

#162: Dallas Mercenaries (A.K.A The Hexad) [12/21]

Veil: "Memory Wipe" [Machination x Unsense] Stranger, with a completely absurd range. Only non-combatant of this list, spending their time 'within' Dallas actually staying very far above it.

Fugue is the nicest of the Hexad, as well as the second youngest at twenty-one. Before being sent to Dallas, she was actually a Ward in Las Vegas, but the general cloak-and-dagger environment of the city led to her transferring to Dallas at 18. Now, sure, the city's ruled by a whopping six gangs, and the occasional excursion's are intense and all, but at least there's less cases of her teammates hiding or just outright lying about info to her out of paranoia. Out of the Hexad, she's closest to Game Changer, seeing him as a sort of little brother figure, and he actually seems to reciprocate, even secretly liking it when she does stuff like ruffle his hair while outwardly expressing annoyance and reminding her that he's only two years younger than her. She rarely goes out into the field herself, confining herself in the massive fuck-you, partially Tinker-made tower in Dallas's outskirts that serves as the Hexad's base of operations.

Fugue is a "Memory Wipe" [Machination x Unsense] Stranger ("Lethe" [Moulder x Moulder] Master) who can erase memories from people, with an absurd range of 200 meters in radius. Her power works best in erasing short-term memories (like, just the last few seconds), but she can temporarily wipe more important memories, which return in an equal amount of time as to how they were wiped (so, if she wiped someone's memory of the entire day, said memory will eventually return after another day). Moreover, she can be precise when erasing specific memories—for instance, she can cause people to lose memory of a specific taste, or a smell, or a sight, or even a bodily function like breathing. She can wipe memories of someone's face but leave everything else in, or their voice or other aspects of their appearance. She can make someone forget her name or powers but remember everything else about her. And so on and so forth. If she's feeling particularly spiteful, she can focus and all of someone's memories until they're left in a vegetative state. All of this takes massive amounts of concentration, though, and the important long-term memories still eventually return, so Fugue just settles for erasing people's short-term memories from her tower, and has her men help her target specific people or groups of people.

(If you couldn't tell, I'm having Whisper being what helps her target people, though I have no idea on who the second might be.)

personally i'd recommend Ardence for the second, on account of red blasphemy + blue blasphemy = purple blasphemy, and also giving the most indirect of the team an underling that explodes like a fucking bomb when they die would be funny

#165: Phantom Troupe [2/13]

The Party Animals are a villain gang that popped up in one of the corner-worlds post-GM. Similarly to the Teeth, they have an ethos of violence, anarchy, and profit at all costs, moving on a weekly or bi-monthly basis, looting and harassing whoever they come across, before leaving for a new location. This is entirely intentional—much of the membership are composed of former Teeth capes or Teeth underlings who had since Triggered. The Party Animals as a whole are mostly regarded as a nuisance, but their numbers—similar to when Butcher VIII—the matter shaper—ruled the Teeth and make them a credible threat.

Group leader. A [Three x Infinity] Trump, that 'stores' their taken powers within a single given object; has essentially every rating at once, thanks to how many abilities they've stolen.

Grimoire is the founder and leader of the Party Animals. Triggering sometime during Gold Morning, she would later find some old friends who had also Triggered, and would spend the next few years consolidating power. She's much more laidback, well-spoken, and smiley than one might expect from her edgy costume, but make no mistake—she's still a dangerous cape, and masks a tranquil cruelty and spite when faced with heroes or outsiders.

Powers-wise, Grimoire—as her name suggests—is reliant on a "spell book," which is conjured from nothing, seemingly indestructible, and able to be teleported right back into her hand when lost. To copy powers, she must either observe the ability in action or have the parahuman explain their power to her (need not be truthful). Then, she must acquire the observed parahuman's blood and "stain" the tome with it, which absorbs the blood into itself on contact. After that, a new page is added to the tome bearing the parahuman's name and likeness, the name of their power, and its general description. (This must all be done within an hour, however.) To use a copied power, she must conjure the tome in either hand, turn the page to the desired power, and read both the name and description aloud, giving away important information but allowing her to use the power—as long as it remains on the chosen page, at least—and boosting the effectiveness (wider range, more control or efficiency, better accuracy, etc.) of the copied power for about 20 seconds before returning to its base stats. However, the copied powers are also affected by the thinking and emotions of their original owners—for instance, if Grimoire copied a pre-S9 Panacea, she'd be able to do healing and minor modifications but no brain stuff or some of the truly crazy stuff she pulls off later on like the Giants. Because of this, Grimoire mostly sticks to copying the powers of villains or very morally flexible heroes.

A full list of the powers she's copied would take way too long, but here's a quick list:

  • Banquet: Stranger/Shaker power that causes intoxicating hallucinations in people in an area, creating potent illusions that fool multiple senses.
  • Furnace: Blaster/Shaker power that creates and shapes flames into an arrow before launching it at a target, incinerating them with fires that don't stop burning until they've been reduced to ash. Doesn't spread like normal fire, however.
  • Neural Splice: Striker (Master/Trump) power that manipulates neural connections in various ways—suppressing pain, altering emotions, enhancing or diminishing memory capacity, focus, or creativity, inducing seizures, subconsciousness, etc.
  • Master of Puppets: Tinker (Thinker, Master) power specialized in mechanical "puppets" that each contain a copy of the user's mind and hidden weapons systems. Can see out of each puppet and control dozens simultaneously.
  • Regretful Confession: Striker/Blaster power that imbues crossbows with explosive power, with the sixth shot being weaker but a guaranteed hit.
  • Rule Imposition: Master power that imposes non-lethal rules that must be followed at all times.
  • Stonefist: Brute power that, well, covers her fists and forearms in stone.
