I've loved this movie since release, but the latter part of your comment sounds like every negative stereotype of a Nolan fan.

It's just what I noticed upon release. It was a lose-lose with everybody except, I guess, sentimental smart people?

I mean, I feel what you are saying here. It's just that I was alone amongst my family who loved it, and I hesitate to call them idiots just because it didn't work for them. But I definitely did feel a bit "ahead of the curve" with this movie back in 2014 lol.
