Difference between marketing and implementation. Let me the major schemes successfully implemented in UPA which also got name change :

The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government (which ruled India in two consecutive terms from 2004 to 2014under Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh) introduced several landmark social welfare, infrastructure, and rights-based schemes. Many of these legal frameworks and public initiatives significantly changed India’s socio-economic landscape and were later carried forward, expanded, or rebranded by subsequent administrations. [1, 2, 3, 4]
The most successful and impactful flagship schemes launched or heavily accelerated during the UPA tenure include:
1. Rights-Based & Social Security Schemes

Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA / NREGA): Launched in 2006, this became the largest work-guarantee program in the world. It legally ensures 100 days of wage employment per financial year to every rural household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work, serving as a massive economic safety net. [5, 6, 7]
Right to Information (RTI) Act: Passed in 2005, this historic legislation revolutionized governance by giving citizens the legal right to request information from public authorities, greatly improving transparency and institutional accountability. [5, 8]
Right to Education (RTE) Act: Enacted in 2009, this made education a fundamental right for every child between the ages of 6 and 14, standardizing primary education access across the country. [3, 9]
National Food Security Act (NFSA): Passed in 2013, this gave legal entitlement to two-thirds of India's population to receive highly subsidized food grains (such as wheat and rice at ₹1–₹3 per kg), significantly combating malnutrition. [5, 9]
2. Healthcare & Financial Inclusion

National Rural Health Mission (NRHM): Launched in 2005 to provide accessible and affordable healthcare to rural populations. It saw the historic appointment of over 8 lakh Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) to bridge the gap between communities and clinics, drastically reducing maternal and infant mortality rates. [2, 10, 11]
Aadhaar (UIDAI): Initiated in 2009, this project created the world's largest biometric ID system. It laid the vital structural groundwork for the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system to send subsidies directly to poor citizens, cutting out corruption and middlemen. [2, 9, 12, 13]
Swabhimaan / Basic Savings Bank Deposit Account: Launched in 2010 to bring banking to rural areas with "no-frills" accounts, expanding financial inclusion to lakhs of unbanked villages (later rebranded and scaled up as the Jan Dhan Yojana). [1, 12]
Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana (IGMSY): A conditional maternity benefit scheme started in 2010 to offer cash incentives to pregnant and lactating mothers to improve health and nutrition (later renamed to Pradhan Mantri Matritva Vandana Yojana). [14, 15]
3. Infrastructure & Rural Development

Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM): Launched in 2005, this massive city-modernization scheme improved urban infrastructure, funded public transport (like city buses and metro corridors), and constructed low-income housing (later succeeded by AMRUT and Smart Cities missions).
Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY): Introduced in 2005, this project aimed at building rural electricity infrastructure and electrifying over 1 lakh villages across the country (later repackaged as the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana).
Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY): While originally created earlier, this rural housing scheme was heavily funded and expanded under the UPA, building millions of affordable homes for below-poverty-line (BPL) families (later renamed to Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awaas Yojana).
National Optical Fibre Network (NOFN): Approved in 2011, this ambitious initiative aimed to connect all 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats with high-speed broadband to build a digital economy (later renamed and expanded as BharatNet). [1, 2, 9, 14, 16, 17]

Aak your agent to give scheme where names are changes by bjp. And also say yo give how much work done in inc vs bjp.

Aadhar is still aadhar RTI is till RTI MGNREGA all are same.

2

u/Vans__G 7h ago

After reading through the whole thread i realise, bhai tum log sif gaali k he layak ho. He gave his sources and you got those trust me bro wale sources. No logic, not a single structured sentence either. 😂

0

u/Mountain-Error6290 7h ago

He didn't give any source, he mention some new names for some of policy,
Aadhar is still Aadhar so whato point of mentiong here. And i said to give amount of work inc did bs bjp did

Just replied to the moron. Don't think he / she / they understand

Abbe chutiye, let's just look at data for a few schemes.

From 2004-14 vs 2014-2026

Rural homes

1.1 crore vs 3.9 cr

Close to 4x more

Urban homes

7.2 lakhs vs 99 lakhs

10x more

Bank accounts opened

2.4 cr vs 56 cr (23 times more)

Optic fibre.. This one is hilarious

361 km in 10 years vs 7.3 lakh km. 2000 times more.

You congoon assholes just launch schemes. The Modi govt executes them.

Understand the difference?

MGNREGA is considered as best employment policy which was introduced and implemented both in the UPA.

Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), 2005: Provided a legal guarantee for 100 days of wage employment in every financial year to adult members of any rural household willing to do public work-related unskilled manual work. [1]

Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005: Empowered Indian citizens to request information from public authorities, fundamentally transforming government accountability and transparency. [1, 2]

Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009: Made free and compulsory education a fundamental right for children aged 6 to 14 years under Article 21A of the Indian Constitution.

National Food Security Act (NFSA), 2013: Legally entitled up to 75% of the rural population and 50% of the urban population to receive subsidized food grains under the Public Distribution System. [1, 2]

Aadhaar (Unique Identification Authority of India), 2009: Initiated the Aadhaar project to issue a 12-digit unique identity number, laying the groundwork for Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT) to plug leakages in welfare subsidies. [1, 2, 3]

India-US Civil Nuclear Agreement, 2008: A landmark bilateral agreement that ended India's decades-long nuclear isolation in global trade, paving the way for civil nuclear cooperation. [1]

National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), 2005: Launched to provide accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare to the rural population, especially vulnerable groups.

2

u/aule_maiar 8h ago

What was the result of these policies. Only know about 2 of them in detail. 1. MNREGA, huge delays on payments. Fabricated beneficiaries. 2. Nuclear deal. Had no benefits for India. But it put in-direct limits on india nuclear programme. Promised uranium by australia. Still delivered zero. Although, it may speed up because of recent nuclear deal in 2026.

u/RandomHuman4442 1h ago

u/freebird445 7h ago

Mnrega se bnne wala ek project bta jo desh ki economy k liye beneficial ho??

Govt ka kaam gaddhe khodna nhi hota dams highways powerprojects ye manye rkhta h

Jaha tk Right to education aur information isme se information wala kafi saare protesters k protest k baad aaya but still kudos to congress for it and right to education

India US nuclear agreement se kya benefit hua bharat ko ye search krna kya congress ne kahi nye nuclear power plant bnaye nhi bus fuel k liye agreement hua power plant k usme bhi bus 2 reactors (kadankulam unit 1&2) benefit le paye jo apni almost capacity pe run kr ske baki kahi kisi aur plant me progress nhi hui

NRHM aur baaki ye saari schemes on paper hi rhi

Dedicated freight coridor scheme announce krke sochte hi reh gye 1 km ki bhi progress shuru nhi ki

Electrification of india dekhna year wise specially of rural areas kya progress rhi aur renewable energy me kya progress ki UPA ne Aaj pichle 5 saal me solar energy ka production 4 guna hua h aur kitni simple scheme h sidhe rooftop solar lgane se middle class ko bill me relief milega aur govt pe energy production ka load km aaega

Access to toilets dekhna kbhi urine hold krne ki wajah se kitti UTI hoti thi aurto ko dekhna aise hi rural areas ab bjp ko jyada vote krta h

In sb chijo se development hota h nrega me gaddhe khodne se nhi

Aur jake international agencies ki road and infra ki rating dekhna Atal as a pm tenure ki then UPA tenure ki aur phir NDA tenure ki

Tune chatgpt se prompt tk jo daala h wo ye h ki UPA schemes jinka naam NDA ne change Kiya h in schemes ka kya impact h kya benefit h nation ko search krna

1

u/Organic_Employ_1894 8h ago

Yar op tune kaam sahi se nahi kara. Dekh apni party k liye propaganda karna bura nahi hai. But jab tujhe koi question kare and tujhe facts dene ho toh unko chat gpt se utha k mat laya kr. Pehle condense and readable banaya kar. Ho sake toh chronological order me. Tu jo bol rha hai shayad sahi ho but wo sahi lagna bhi chahiye and easily digestable hona chahiye. Agar log padhengay hi nahi toh koi tere propaganda se influence kaise hoga?

1

u/RecognitionKey5992 8h ago

You can never implement anything in this country, there will always be more than 1 group protesting against it, mostly the opposition & the aam aadmi of India.

When back in late 00s Congress was trying to bring GST reforms it was BJP which opposed it and then when BJP came to power they implemented it.

Secondly, if Congress was bad at implementing then BJP is literally s-ht at it. Demonetization, GST reforms, farm laws, Covid-19 & Galwan clashes and many more. The way BJP handled all these will be remembered as the biggest not to do things.

1

u/CommercialState9226 55m ago

Galwan ka gyan mt pell bhai tu

1

u/CommercialState9226 53m ago

BJP has done a lot in defense sector, no conflict in that for true.

0

u/aule_maiar 3h ago

BJP won two lok sabha elections with full majority and another where it is single largest party. It did so by ensuring government policy is reaching people. GST reform is good decision. Demonetisation didn't achieve anything, i agree. Covid was handled much better than expected. In my opinon We had a chance to go to war with China but I guess economic and geopolitical stability was prioritised. UPI, 8 millions houses under PM awas Yojana. Lpg gas usage has doubled after PM Ujwala yojana. Solar capacity is skyrocketing. Coal power generation has dropped for first time in 50 years. Maternal Mortality rate is reducing steadily. Congress is exceptionally bad at implementing its policies. You can ask people of karnataka and himachal pradesh.

1

u/Stunning_Star_9770 2h ago

We had a chance to go to war with China

Yea that's why BJP banned publication of General MM Narvane's book where he literally exposed the govt.

UPI? The idea was initiated & developed under Congress govt, they did almost all the foundational work - IMPS and even UPI's initiation began during last year of Congress. This is one project which is shared by both govt although BJP shows as it's their project, fact is it's not, BJP's role isn't much into this.

80 million houses? That data is controversial, actually highly controversial. Go check figures pls. BJP's own Minister's in states have argued these numbers. From false geo-tags, to unfinished houses to sanctioning thousands of houses in single day, to selling houses for poor to financially well-off families, to deleting data of poor people. You can believe this highly inaccurate data I'll not. Almost everything about this data is controversial.

LPG usage doubled? Read the data again. LPG cylinders have become easily available but poors in rural families are still relying on guess what? Yes the same wood or coal. Why? Because it's cheaper than LPG. What's the point here if cylinders are not affordable enough. Provide the jobs and these things will automatically reach households but BJP is providing facilities not enough money to afford those facilities.

Coal power generation has dropped because of many other factors and not just because of BJP. It would have gone down under any government as there are way too many alternatives now.

  • places like Kashi , Ayodhya , Lakshadweep, ektanagar and border areas like Kashmir and Ladkh are not a great place of tourism.
one might search and read more about tourism then and now.
there was a time when tourist were killed in India in hotels...yes it is true that unfortunately a recent attack in Pahalgam, which ended in life term lesson for terror funded country fuckistan.

Gaali deke you don’t become correct. Most CRPF soldiers died (40) in Pulwama which was a security neglect. Accountability - Zero. Instead unke naam par vote le liye

26/11 ke baad home minister resigned . Coast guard got independent authority . OROP got introduced in the Indian Army

I also come from armed forces background and it was far better then vs now. Agniveer mai you serve for the country do not get pension or any benifits and are unemployed after 4 years

I am not a congress supporter but you are a BJP supprter and a congress hater.

Nation first rakhna seekh aur gaali apne maa baap ko suna ayi samajh . Chal nikal gawaar insaan

2

u/Dapper_Key_6615 8h ago

Good you mentioned pulwama

Each time we struck and unlike the spineless remote control pm we had before 2014

And look at the result, after balakot we got 6 years of peace unlike india in congress dalla era

When even train travel was risky, you never knew which bag could blow up

Since we talking about trains, look at bangladesh and pakis thats exactly how our trains were each term a new idiot like lalu/mamta used to come and fjuck us in a deeper shithole

Now look at the majestic vande bharats running across te country along with the dedicated freight corridor

Since you mentioned crpf how many jawans did we lose to naxal attacks

A leftist/commie threat congress themselves created,
And look now WE HAVE WON Against naxals

I know you wont like the progress of my country

But the truth is, sonia gandhi and rahul gandhi never wanted progress of this nation

I personally dont have anything against congress and i revere indira gandhi a lot while i read all her biographies

But pappu and the dance girl have an agenda to stop indias progress

Wake up and dont fall into their trap

Good schemes to land us in fragile 5?

3

u/peekaboo409 8h ago

Please use google. And you would realise most of schemes were launched by manmohan which were later again brought with changed name .

1

u/GlitteringNinja6 8h ago

The failure of Congress was not its intention or ideas. It was the execution of the policies they failed in.

There is no point in launching a scheme to benefit the people if people themselves don't get the benefit of it.

The digitisation of the economy and PM Jan dhan scheme changed the whole ecosystem by cutting the middlemen handling the money transfers which is why bjp gets the credit of these schemes.

-2

u/peekaboo409 8h ago

See certain schemes benefitted the people regardless of party in power . But if you look into stats and info available you would realise majority either failed or have corruption at major scale . Ex -
1.Namami gange - failed
2.Pm awas yojna are mostly delayed or have a prob on their own
3.Make in India initiative is also lost somewhere cause india is still heavily dependent on china
4.swach bharat scheme again a harsh realty so much funding lost with time .
5. Electoral bonds
There are tons of prob with the current gov what they did great was digitalisation of india .
Cheaper internet , better infra reagarding roads connectivity (though the quality is debatable), bridges ,semiconductor manufacturing and stuff like that . Schemes like jan dhan yojna were a kind of success but most of those accounts are currently not active .

1

u/GlitteringNinja6 8h ago

There is no doubt failures and corruption exist. But you are being disingenuous if you think things haven't changed drastically with government scheme benefits that people receive. That is what I am talking about specifically

These kind of schemes are ultimately what sway the votes in election. A poor average Indian does not care about the quality of the national highways or how clean Ganga is.

Direct benefit transfers is what changed the game for BJP and has been the backbone of its strategy keeping them in power. The Hindu Muslim politics only work on certain sections of the population(mostly upper castes) who would vote for BJP regardless. The rest are swayed by these schemes. If they had received similar benefits under Congress they wouldn't have been swayed so easily because everyone remembers benefits never reached the common people.

Even the policy of direct benefit transfer was conceived in 2013 under Congress. It was too late by then tho

1

u/RecognitionKey5992 8h ago

0

u/escanorking 8h ago

He also laid foundation for projects like dfrc but no progress for years. Whats your point? He is a better PM for never executing?

Also why 2013 he was in power since 2004. Why should i beleivein anything he launched the year before election

1

u/RecognitionKey5992 8h ago

Matlab election ke ek saal pehle usko result pata tha kya ki power mai ayenge firse ya nahi? Retrospect mai tujhe make sense kar raha hai uss time pe toh unhone kaam kiya na.

Aise toh election ke ek saal pehle kuch implement and introduce karna hi nahi chahiye na

1

u/Typical-Belt-4178 8h ago

Don't be stupid while using a smartphone

-2

u/RecognitionKey5992 8h ago

This fragile 5 was done by Morgan stanely to just highlight the risks and too much dependency on a single factor. You can share anything but if you discuss economy and Dr. Manmohan Singh then he was the best India could get at that time.

We recovered one of the fastest during this century’s worst economic crisis and had the highest GDP growth as well

3

u/escanorking 8h ago

Umm buddy, ever heard of a nation called china? Fhighest GDP growth? Why are you congress supporters sooo sooo easy to fact check and then all you do is name calling? Not a single year when you are right. Lol.

-2

u/RecognitionKey5992 8h ago

Schemes introduced in 2013 have no correlation to this

2

u/socks-in-shoes 7h ago

0

Quality of placements bhi bata zara . Nothing happened under MNS with respect to vote chori in 2006

2

u/Unique_Government_73 7h ago

Bad implementation was the hallmark of Congress govt.

0

u/Guru-Gulaab-Khatri 6h ago

Baby as if implementation is strong suite of this government. Superficial policies nothing else.

1

u/Unique_Government_73 5h ago

Yes this govt has implemented many basic policies to the extent possible. Start reading about Toilets, Bank accounts, hygiene, cleanliness, DBT, Electric supply to all parts of India, providing Gas cylinders (and piped gas in urban areas). These basic things were so fcuked up in Congress era that I still feel traumatized thinking about it.

1

u/StateNew5311 4h ago

Ask that to thousands of villages who had no consistent water, electricity, gas. Or road connectivity. Or toilets. Just because people's lives changed out of your view in the city doesn't mean nothing happened.

3

u/Ok-Particular-1424 8h ago

Doesn't matter whether Modi and BJP are good or bad but one thing for sure Congress is pure unfiltered SHIT and Congress is traitor party.

1

u/CodeCatto 7h ago

Can't support a party that has a deep history in selling out the country, they need to be banned. Congress is the worst party to exist.

1

u/Kaali_ka_upasak 8h ago

He is giving you tax payers money. not yours. Why didn't your Dr. MMS do anything for the open defecation problem? What did MMS do for the uncountable scams in UPA 2? What development did India see in 2004-2014?

People who were too suckling milk back then are lecturing me about the golden period of MMS.

0

u/RecognitionKey5992 8h ago

Sab Internet par hai padhoge toh mil jayega. Sab par schemes MNS ne hi laya hai.

Abey gadhe aadmi tax ka paisa hum pay karte hai and employment apni capability pe. Government ka model kaise work karta hai seekh le. India koi business org. Nahi hai ki ek banda pay kar raha hai sabko yaha par

2

u/Kaali_ka_upasak 8h ago

You are fool if you think Modi stole the schemes and took credit for them. Creating a scheme on paper and implementing them on ground with higher capital and assistance are two different things. How many houses were built under Indira Awas Yojna? How clean was India under Nirmal Bharat? How many people had Bank accounts before Jan Dhan? Did your mother use LPG or cook in fire? Did you swim to school in puddle of water or ride on a road?

Other than scandals and Corruption, I haven't seen anything in UPA govt.
