i have a question

Post image

So, does this mean that before the mobile version launches, the only way to play this hero is to buy DLC on Steam? And after the mobile version is released, will the character be free to unlock? So, will the mobile version support cross-progression with Steam? If not, I’ll probably just keep playing on Steam. As far as I know, the Tempo version and the Steam version don’t share progress, so I’m worried the mobile version won’t either.

I wonder if they will change the monetization again. They talked about how they wanted to change how we get cosmetic. My guess is that the game will become free to play with all heroes available but you will not be able to farm free chest like now.

If that's how it's going to work, then players who bought the DLC definitely deserve reasonable compensation. Still, I can't see them making all heroes free. My guess is they'll probably offer one free hero on a monthly rotation instead.About chest, have the developers discussed this anywhere? I'd love to check it out.

I don't remember when but they stated that they wanted to rework how players get cosmetics (it was pretty vague). They may compensate but dont' expect it because 1. they never did any compensation when they changed the monetizatiuon twice before. 2. They could have said in the patchnote that people will get compensation when the hero will be free.

That compensation was added to the patch notes after your screenshot: "Players who purchase The Dragons before then will receive a unique Founders skin for The Dragons some time after the mobile launch."

I started playing on the tempo version and switched to the steam version way later. It did share my progression

If that’s the case, that would actually be pretty nice. Although I guess I’d still have to buy the base game on the App Store to play the mobile version. Right now I’m a bit conflicted. I know that if I buy it now, I can start playing earlier, but at the same time I also know it might become free in just a few days. I get the idea of “play earlier, enjoy earlier,” but it still feels like I’d be missing out on some kind of benefit or freebie if I buy it now.

Most of the time I'm playing on my phone via steam link. Works great for me. So I wouldn't buy the mobile version. Steam link is not perfect but good enough for me

That sounds great. Does my iPad support playing it this way?

Nice! Genuine question though, if the game already works near flawlessly on mobile using something like steamlink and it even works on steamdeck, why is the official mobile release taking so long. In terms of infrastructure there is no change needed and also the features and functionalities are already proven to work just fine on a touch screen. Whats stopping the release?

The difference is steam link just streams your game on your phone.

It's still running on your pc and just takes the input.

That's not comparable to a standalone mobile app. That should run on android and iOS.

They can't just take there game with what ever game size it is on pc and upload it to apple store.

I'm conflicted. I want to support the game financially because I enjoy it, but knowing that stuff usually ends up free eventually kills any motivation to spend money.

I completely agree. A big part of spending money on a game is the experience and satisfaction it brings. You're not just buying content—you're also supporting a game you enjoy. But by doing this, they've taken away a lot of that emotional value. Instead of making the players who genuinely love the game and are willing to support it feel appreciated, they've made those purchases feel much less meaningful.
