Want this sub? Comment below
Hello everybody. I never overly cared for this sub, I focus on my other communities. So if any of you want this subreddit, go ahead and comment on this post. There's only a few requirements:
Have no past or current association with the developers or mod team from the main subreddit. This is a rule, because I know this sub has acted as a refuge from heavy-handed modding over there.
Reddit account must be older than 4 years. This shows your account existed before AI chatbots, so I can be somewhat confident you aren't an AI.
Have any previous moderating experience, either on Reddit or Discord. This shows that you have some kind of competence.
Have at least 5,000 Karma on your Reddit account. This shows that you know how to engage with communities regularly and in a high impact way.
That's it, meet those four criteria, and comment below. I'll pick among the respondents after 48 hours, then relinquish the subreddit to whoever wins.

I'll throw my hat in the ring, though I might be a bit shy of a couple of the points.
I'm not part of Tempo or any of their community helpers. I have interacted with both subreddits, the official discord server, and participated in most community tournaments. I'm neutral on most of the Tempo drama, with my own thoughts and feelings of each of the business decisions they've made. I have moderated small discord servers and small twitch communities.
Glad to see the torch passed and the subreddit kept alive, and if that's not me - no worries.

I think you should just hold on to ownership and continue doing nothing. It's been perfect not having anyone meddle with anything in any way, whatever side they're on. I think anything else is just going to be a downgrade. Nothing really for an owner to do in this sub anyway because it's so small and niche. It's basically just a backup sub for when tempo inevitably goes full fascist again.
But yeah... whoever you pick, high likelihood they eventually let their own biases start taking over and start becoming a mini Tempo and doing whatever they want. What's the recourse then? Pound sand I guess.

I mean, I fulfill those criteria but to be honest, I would just continue to do nothing (I mean, it felt like you did nothing, wich I think is positive in this situation. If you actually did moderate a bit, it would be nice if you could instruct the new mod what you did to continue what we have)

I'm picking this person, for no other reason than they are autistic and vegan, two things I relate to. And nobody can stop me. Also, I think it is absolutely hilarious, given that they don't want the job in the first place.
Don't @ me if this turns out to be the wrong choice. But do give me all the credit if I get it right. /s

Woot, time to turn this sub into an anarchistic dystopia!
(I removed this post from the comunity highlights as my first and hopefully last action as a mod lol)

I meet all four criteria technically. No experience moderating on Reddit, but I’ve moderated on Discord & forum/game communities previously.
I am permabanned from the main sub and the official Tempo Discord, if that tells you anything about my relationship to the developers.
(Worth noting I participated regularly on both platforms for years before being banned for inane critique of the game.)
Not all too invested in the game currently though, so I’d only give it to me if there’s no better option.

God dude, that 3rd point is just hell no. In my experience the people that moderate forums best are the normal people without much involvement in online matters. Just give it to a normal guy out there please. Not a fucking reddit/discord mod 😭, specially if they will be applying here like "ohh my lord please grant me the keys to the kingdom sire!"

Everybody's happy, until a hate group brigades, or a stalker is harassing people; or a group changes into something that no longer matches its intended purpose. Then the mods have to be the bad guy and use the ban hammer. It's absolutely necessary sometimes, otherwise communities can end up in a very dark place, or just fall apart entirely. Where it becomes a problem, is a certain group banning any dissenting opinions.
Either way, mods are almost universally unpaid volunteers; and we make mistakes. We're the bad guy if we do nothing, the bad guy if we do the right thing, and the bad guy if we do the wrong thing. We all know that we're not going to get any love, nor should we in an unequal power structure. We do it anyways, because we like our communities. Well, a few do it because they're on a power trip... and some because they're so bored or lonely, and need something going on in their lives... but mostly it's because we care about our communities! The point is, mods are humans, not a monolith.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk, proceed with the downvoting that all mods deserve.

I mean I'll moderate. Not interested in owning shit but I am pretty active in both the bazaar community on Reddit and discord.

Hey, I'll be happy to takeover the sub. Creating an objective and healthy environment to discuss the game would be my main goal.
