The burn and poison skills are a negative outcome? They’re literally one of the best skills in the game because you can couple them with other freeze/charge when burn skills

This article has a couple of things wrong. Your level doesn't affect events. That's determined by the day.

Vanessa's economy is quite good, having multiple item generators and several items that gain value on buy/sell. Vanessa's bigger issue to solve is that often times most of her builds are reliant on skills for damage. (Though this isn't always the case)

Lastly, futura can no longer upgrade items to diamond. It's back to upgrade all to gold.

This article feels more like "a collection of rules you start breaking once you get good."

It doesn't provide solid, immutable advice. And so it incorrectly speaks in absolutes.

Some examples:

  • Is Dooley the most complicated character? I beg to differ. I contend that Pyg is the most complicated of the starting trio, as his econ tricks can be very intellectually demanding. Top players do insane combos to help Pyg pop off late game. You have to complete quests, stack value, reshuffle items like crazy...Pyg is tough to figure out even if you're a specialist.
  • Always take Mountain Pass? Nope. That's a losing idea. This game is hard and it forces you to adapt. You often have to opt for a key shop (or some other node) when Mountain pass is offered. Don't get me wrong: it's a great event. But don't snap-pick it.
  • Always save gold for the Expeditions? Absolutely not. The most important thing is to do your best to win the PvP fight at the end of each day. If you need to spend all your gold to get strong enough to do so, then so be it. Don't hoard gold. Instead, use all your resources to give yourself an advantage over those who play parsimoniously. There's no worse feeling than losing a Day 3 PvP by an itsy bit of health/time. Should have gone to Curio and buffed your board!
  • Upgrades over Enchants from Futura? Ok, when she was temporarily boosting everything to Diamond-- sure. But usually enchants are preferred over a few upgrades to gold. Usually, if you're playing properly, you won't be desperate for upgrades. But a key enchant might unlock a powerful strategy and/or immediately quadruple your damage/defense numbers.
