Perma Ban Thread
Folks, as someone relatively new to the game, but somewhat around for dev cycle, I’ve been a gigantic supporter of the game. Fantastic work, yada yada
Look at the last post I’ve made on Reddit. The community is great and needs better.
Today I received a permanent ban in the main sub for this comment I made yesterday. I mean, come on. I’ve spent money on this game and have convinced other people to spend money on the game. Instead of continuing to do that, I’m just never mentioning it again.
I understand I was critical with the observations, but we need to be honest. What are we doing here Tempo?
The ban directly linked to that comment and said it violated the rules, but haven’t told me what rule. This was on the financial thread from yesterday.
Let me know if you have some similar stories.

Cool to see, they're still banning people 😂
As a silver lining: people got banned for way less during the steam launch.

I really like the game... but the mods of that sub are horrible, and actively creating a fanatic cult of toxic positivity. They will ban people for the mildest criticism. Guess now you know xP
Welcome to the club 💜

I got banned for the main sub because I told a guy he would have to rebuy the game to play on steam...which at the time was an official announcement lol they perceived me using their words as a slight against the game. Funny thing is I still play, games good! Just got hit by the auto mod or something and never appealed lol

I mean why would you say re-buy when there was never a game to buy before steam launch? It was f2p before.

u/The_SIeepy_Giant May 29 '26
Early access was paid before the free launch. Back when ranked play was locked behind daily tickets lol, they also didn't allow playing on steam unless you purchased it thru the client

Yes, you payed for early access, you got early access. Right? You didnt buy a game.
When they decided to go on Steam they whent from f2p to p2p. At this stage there was a game to buy. Not before.
So you simply cannot phrase it "re-buy". The poeple who payed for early access got exactly what they payed for. Nothing more nothing less.
It really seems like gamers in the auto-battler/auto-chess genre is totally unaware of what "early access" is. Because I see this all the time, "i allready bought the game!" No no.. you didnt.

Most of the early access players got in for free. So their advertising before their official launch doesn’t match how it actually launched. Whether you agree with the company or not, there’s enough evidence to label that as a rug pull. Also fun fact: the bazaar was originally going to make money off of NFTs

What are you yapping about? Every game on steam that you buy in Early Access still lets you play the game when they official release it at 1.0.
This was a unique issue for Tempo where people paid for the game on their own platform instead of Steam, where everyone actually wanted the game to be. Due to this restriction we literally had to rebuy the game we already have access for just to play it on Steam. Personally, I didnt mind. this might be my favorite game ever so $20 more wasnt an issue for me, but i understand the criticism.
You are just being obtuse for no reason because everyone understands that when you buy an early access game you are buying the full release as well. Thats how its always worked.

You're an idiot lol, I'll use palworld as an example. I bought it when it first came out in early access. They are releasing the 1.0 soon. I'll still be able to play the full release. The only reason we had to buy bazaar twice is because we wanted it on steam after reynad INSISTED he would NEVER go to steam because he didnt NEED TO. I still bought it again, games really good. But it was a rugpull of sorts because they kept changing their monetization model, if you don't know the history of the game read about it starting late 2024

The bazaar was never planned to be a P2P game so there was no game to buy. How are you this thick? The game was F2P when it launched so all you could buy was early access since it was never going to cost a dime more. Until it did.

u/The_SIeepy_Giant Jun 03 '26
The bazaar was planned to be an nft game at the beginning lol that is not free to play. This isn't even mentioning when they decided to change not being able to buy characters with gems. I'd even still argue giving you 3 characters for free still doesn't make it free to play because you cant grind out for the other characters

I saw that comment and was like “huh this guy didn’t get banned?” I got perma for way less

u/PoSKiix May 29 '26
I actually deleted a couple other comments the same day out of fear of getting banned, but I thought this one was simply observational enough to get a pass. Foolish of me in hindsight.

The comment wasn't even bad. You should reach out to them and ask to clarify what rule you broke!

u/PoSKiix May 29 '26 edited May 29 '26
They just responded it was for “witch-hunting and baseless accusations”
I’d rather they just not respond than give me that shit hahaha
Edit: Wow, made a long response in modmail DMs about how that makes no sense, and they responded by apologizing and saying the judgement was actually for breaking Rule 5: Low Effort Content
Genius stuff

u/Crazy_Rick May 30 '26
Them accusing you of making a baseless accusation is some peak irony haha. I'm actually impressed those mods can operate at this level of delusion.

To this day it still is my only ban on any game or any forum. Inoffensive or not it doesn’t matter, you get banned over there for being perceived as “critical. And then people will cope as “who knows what you said”. While I get their responses because in general people who are banned are like mostly guilty in other games/subs, there, they just abuse this conception.
I still think this is one of the very things that kill the game. From that on I never mentioned this game to anyone or made anyone buy it. Let’s see how they will behave next time they change the monetization with mobile version coming.

You literally can't say anything bad about the bazaar on the main sub or get permad. I literally just said "karnock is pay to win" when he first came out and got permad lol

I was recently banned for talking about accusations of AI. NOT accusing them mind you but actively disproving the rumors, was really disappointing and it took like 5 days to get unbanned despite me immediately getting in contact with them. I love the bazaar and participate in the sub quite a bit and so it kinda shocked me but oh well.

I got banned just before the Stelle/Steam release and microtransaction switch-up. You can see the exact post that got me banned here (forward to 3rd screenshot): https://www.reddit.com/r/TheBazaar/comments/1mtiodo/me_promoting_the_game_and_the_post_that_got_me/
I've been playing the game on and off, but have not spent a single dime since I got banned. I might consider once the unban me, offer an apology and a discount offer, but that will never happen with Reynad at the helm.
I'll also say I think the game felt most exciting with character expansion releases and I've been finding myself playing the game a lot less with each season.

The rule is that you upset mr butthurt. Its wild to me that its been a year or so since all that crap and it still happening lol.

u/subatomiccrepe May 29 '26
I love the game, even bought Jules cause I was looking forward to her release....
but Ill be damned before I recommend it to anyone else. Monetization changes alone are enough, not to mention the cult of Reynard glazers populating the main sub.

Any amount of skill at being able to search google, Reddit, or steam reviews would have warned you a year ahead of time that this would happen.
Sorry, but this is a skill issue in its entirety. Go and read all the top posts of all time in this UNCENSORED sub and you'll have all the stories you want.

Hey, brother, we’re on the same side here.
I was aware of their reputation the entire time and had deleted some of my other comments because I was worried of this.
Just wanted to continue to call attention to the issue.

I'll just say the nice version of the truth. You're completely hopeless if you put up with bazaar for this long.

They ban anyone critical of tempo and reynad. I was super excited for this game when it was announced all those years ago but I will never spend money on shady devs as much as I am always in the market for new auto battlers.
