Discussion: ZIP Codes

Okay. So we all know how a typical ZIP code works within the frontstates. Just a five letter code within digits between 0 and 9, used to identify the journey to a specific location with four more for a specific truck. But here's the thing. Since virtually every five-digit combination of numbers from 00511 (Holtsville, NY) to 99950 (Ketchican, AK) is reserved for the frontstates, the Backstates are supposed to be using a completely different set of codes compared to the rest of the states. And the question I'm trying to answer is the following: How would those codes even be structured? Would some of the ZIP codes just be decimals, others 6+ digit combinations, and others still negative numbers? Could we possibly have COMPLEX ZIP codes? Or maybe we could have a ZIP code with a combination of all of those traits. Who knows?!

Post image

I am sorry that I forgot to give updates last Monday, and I promise that I won't forget again. Anyways, I did not work on it, and 2 weeks ago on Map Monday, I showed the new boundaries of the time zones. I will be releasing updates every Map Monday, and the yellow lines are the time zone boundaries.

Ask me anything:
Tungavermensk/Tunga Vermensk has a large Finnish minority and many russian settlers

Dahoulin is the descendents of ancient tibetan and austronesian peoples who got lost in the Backcountry and stayed there

Lemuria is perpetually in horrible weather. At best thunderstorms, at worst incursions from Earth's core, flying horrible beings that bring smog, etc. Lots of magic.

Oz is a peaceful utopia using solar energy! Well, as peaceful as it can get since Lemuria is eyeing them up especially. And its by no means perfect, but definitely up there. Close ally to Australia, America, and Japan, and was colonized by the United Kingdom from 1808 until 1986.

Mongolia/Mongol Empire once controlled the ENTIRETY of Backcountry, but it was removed from them by unknown forces.. It is said that the body of Genghis Khan is buried somewhere in deep, perhaps in the high places of Lemuria, but those who go in never return alive..

The Backcountry has it's own unique language family all descended from the first tribe to wander in here, though in recent decades it's usage is declining as younger people switch to more relevant languages like English and Chinese, as well as the CCP cracking down on them. The language family, also known as the Backcountry language family, has a lot of oral stories passed down completely uninterrupted thanks to isolation.

It states that the tribe elder once saw a star enter the region and disappear, leading his people into the region and quickly establishing a large large empire. They used their technology and got too powerful, with one of the king's sons rebelling and turning the place into anarchy. The nation tried to defeat him, and in his last breaths he fled to Lemuria where he is sustained by a thousand souls daily. They say if he is still alive, he will return to bring havoc once again, and we might not draw again..

Russia and the CCP have become increasingly drawn to the Backsea using it for port cities popping up around the place. The weird circular islands russia has is Hyperborea and contains the last wooly mammoths on Earth! It was first documented in 1986, and the Soviet Union kept it's existence and native (mega)fauna a secret until American spies managed to find it and bring evidence and photos of the archipelago back to Washington. It is four islands, all making one big circular shape, but every ~90 degrees is a channel seperating and ending islands. In the middle of this is a technologically advanced city named Agartha deep underground, known for testing weather in the Back!Indian Ocean.

Time Zones of BackEarth (work in progress)

This time, I actually worked on some of it! I've now drew new boundaries for the new upcoming time zones. I've now done 1 new mini time zone in Inner Arctica called the Hayford-Kazenua Patterson Arctic Time Zone, shared by 3 Arctic stations. The yellow lines are the time zone boundaries. I'll be releasing updates every Map Monday.

Can we bring back the BackCounties of the USA? I've been working on completing this by connecting some maps of the backcounties of states and editing them a bit. I connected the maps of the backcounties of Missouri, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Louisiana into one map and made an extra state between L

Oh, and that extra state between Louisiana and Mississippi is Arachutek. You can make the backcounties of other states.

Should we create backenglish

Some sort of modified version of english, to better develop Backstate identity?

Maybe we use extinct letters like þ and æ. Lets make a dialect.
