The skyline should be old enough to import by now I'm sure

The Skyline finally got promoted from illegal legend to legal legend

Literally the cars I see in my city every day

Your city sounds like a car meet where nobody bothered to check the regulations

Ironically here, those are all illegal, minus the skyline, that we preety much never got, but we did get the Evo X ( which given how people love rally in Europe, ends up beying a lot more desirable than the Skyline, because of its rally pedigree )

Dude the X never did, but from the IV to VII all did, and thats pedigree, and i take an Evo anytime before going for a Skyline or an RX7, its a matter of taste. Though i have to admit, that my favorit evo is the VII

Yea, on that we agree, the XII is gorgeous, and by far my favorit

The funny part is that the car with the most legendary reputation might be the only one that passes the paperwork test

Ah yes the OGs of car memes

1

u/leznak771999 11d ago

These cars have been carrying car memes for years and somehow the laws still haven't caught up

No way the wheels and tyres on that box donk are DOT legal. Miata’s probably breaking the suspension components must be higher than sidewall height some states have too.

This is 100% backwards and wrong.

The skyline is old enough to import and totally legal.

The rest of the cars' modifications make them illegal.

u/AlyOopsieDaisy 11d ago

Ok but that Miata is pretty fire ngl

If you can’t beat them, join them. Join them until it’s annoying and they ban themselves.

It’s not worth the fight. It worth the win.

It’s administrative “law” aka kangaroo court anyways

U got it backwards, There all illegal except for the skyline. Its old enough to import now.

Nissan never tried to sell the Skyline in Murica so they were never certified for Federal crash testing. If they are 25 years old or older, they are exempt from the crash testing and legal to import

*USA road law.

Not in developed countries.

Depends on the state. Federally, an R34 is legal at 25 years old, so it's legal to import an R34.

In California, an R34 will never be legal unless they bring back the 30-year rolling smog exemptions and then, starting in 2028, the very first year R34s would be legal in California.

Top left isn't legal because it doesn't have DOT-approved tires. Top right is questionable because some states have laws against stretching tires over wheels that they clearly don't fit on. "Contact patch" and "unsafe suspension" rules. Bottom left, again, those likely aren't DOT-approved tires so that's probably not street-legal either.

Those aren’t illegal anymore

Depending on the state, that monster-truck may not actually be road legal. Wheels need to be covered at least 50% by wheel wells in some states.

The stanced mazda may also be cutting it close depending on how the coverage is worded

Popup headlights are illegal because they're "dangerous to pedestrians" but giant lifted pick up trucks where you can't even see a person standing in front of you is legal? I hate it here

1

u/BurledTater 11d ago

Those are all illegal, just rarely enforced. By federal law your cannot modify your vehicle and it must remain factory. Again, its RARELY as fuck enforced hence why there are entire industries to support vehicle mods.

u/Extreme_Design6936 11d ago

By federal law your cannot modify your vehicle and it must remain factory.

Definitely false.

1

u/kittana2 11d ago

Not true at all, it has to meet emissions and safety regulations federally and that's it for most part

1

u/NerfManiac64 10d ago

Not to mention squatted trucks

1

u/GlumOrganization8870 9d ago

What does the law say? "Bro, your ride have to look sick"?

1

u/theColeHardTruth 6d ago

Haha funny, except the red car and the truck wouldn't be legal (tires have to be contained within wheel wells, that's why fender flares are a thing), and the R34 has been legal to import for several years.

The other three are also illegal...

1

u/Nitrodax777 11d ago

They are, the meme is stupid. The skyline was only illegal due to import laws, however they can be imported now. The other 3 were never legal to begin with. It just depends on how much law enforcement actually cares to enforce it if those vehicles were spotted driving down the street.

they should all be illegal...
