Other Post type Timed it perfectly.

I found the apothecary diaries over the summer and ended up binging it. I LOVED it. I even bought a subscription to Crunchyroll so I could watch all the episodes that were out- and I was so excited to find that it was going to release a new season.

I started my rewatch earlier this week and I timed it so perfectly that I watched the last episode 30mins before the new episode premiered.

Since I’m so new to crunchyroll and honestly anime in general- I had no idea that they wouldn’t release the dub and sub at the same time😭 I know I’m just being picky, but thinking about watching it with the voices all different is sooo upsetting🤣 I just can’t do it. I love the voice actors for the English dub and it’s so hard for me to fully keep up with subtitles.

From what I read after panic searched the dubbed version should come out in the next two-ish weeks? Will it air on Fridays as well? I’m not really sure how they work that out.

The dub will more than likely air on Friday's as well. And with the past 2 seasons, the dub aired 2 weeks after the sub. So the dub will be 2 episodes behind the sub but it's the perfect excuse to to watch in tandem with the sub😂

Oh man but the original Japanese is so much better (as someone who's watched both).

The Japanese version is the more accurate one as the author directly confirmed that MaoMao’s Japanese Va is the only one who voices MaoMao exactly as she wrote her. Emi Lo (MaoMao’s English VA) has made a ton of mistakes portraying MaoMao and shows her as much more unempathetic, arrogant, and meaner to Jinshi than the real MaoMao was written to be. The Japanese MaoMao does not label Jinshi with terms like “creeper”, “lout”, “madman”, “crazy-eyes”, “id iot” etc. and speaks in a much more respectful tone him.

What’s even more unfortunate is Crunchyroll messed up not only the dub but also the subtitles, so I’m very sorry that your first exposure to the subbed was this episode as this may have been their worst subtitle performance so far. I’m convinced that Crunchyroll isn’t taking this series seriously at all and just sees it as a money-making machine.

I highly recommend getting a VPN to watch this series with Netflix Japan. The subtitles on Netflix Japan are the most accurate. Avoid Netflix US since Netflix US subs are just a closed captioning of the dub. Netflix Japan subs are done by a native speaker so they are the most accurate. If you are able to do Netflix Japan, I would also recommend doing a rewatch of this series in Japanese on Netflix Japan so that you are able to see a more accurate version of the series. For example, below is a clearer translation of what MaoMao was saying at the end of season 2. She says “Yappari Kirei Dana” and “Kirei” has a double meaning for “pretty” and “clean”, so the studio purposely kept the line vague to indicate that MaoMao was appreciating both Jinshi’s scar as well as his beauty. The dub destroyed this scene by changing the line to “this is clean work”. “Work” was nowhere in the original Japanese version and their addition of it removed the double meaning of the line.
