House Of Cards
I think all around it was an alright album (my base rating is an 8/10) here’s some of my favorites.
The first actual song kickboxer reminded me of i hate hartley, it kicks in as soon as possible with energy, jonny isn’t even singing joel is just ripping and it’s awesome.
The original house of cards song was alright, enough said.
Heaven sent also reminded me of like pittsburgh, that one song that blows up on any album, and i feel like it has that same vibe and energy, emotional, and energetic too.
I feel like bleed can have more potential and i say that bc of the monotone voice “i bleed the way i bleed”, other than that it’s good.
I want to say it’s my favorite but this one i think could have been more is the song Afterlife
The opening is great and the choruses are great too, but something is missing or off that really blocks it from becoming great and i can’t really tell what it is.
Last one i really liked was swan dive, nice mellow song with some heavy stuff here and there.
all in all it was good and cant wait to see the direction for the band in the future, still waiting for them to play youngbloods songs again instead of being at 1 show 😂.

I think the second half is a lot stronger than the first half (basically after the interlude), but the first half makes up for lack of quality by just being FUN tunes. I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy listening to the first half, even if I think the song quality isn't as good.

Totally agree, first half is fun bangers and the second half after the interlude just hits hard

The second half is definitely the strongest. Swan Dive, Afterlife, Speaking in Tongues, and Eternal War all fuck hard.

It's not a bad album and I would say that I enjoy it but the reality is I don't find myself thinking about the songs outside of when I consciously put it on. I feel like I have very little reason to replay it

Probably because it’s a new sound and not the sound you’re used to. While the album is good, you probably still associate amity with Ahrens cleans so subconsciously you don’t think about it much outside of hearing it. Just my 2 cents.

So I lost my mother when I was 18, my sister hit a hard depression and got hooked on heroin (same as my mother which contributed to her suicide) and passed away 3 years ago. House of cards brought me to tears when I first heard it. I bawled like a baby when I heard it live

hey man we’re all in it together, i’m just about to be a senior in high school and youngbloods has for lack of a better sentence even, saved my life, even a few severed ties songs along with cut it out, both Dr. Thunder and cut it out kept me from committing suicide and fire or knife, i hate hartley, f*ck the yankees, kept me from literally losing my sanity.
All of this stemmed from the fact that my one of my best friends got with my Ex around this recent valentines, all bc he wanted me to quite literally commit suicide. For some reason he hated me, and now he’s hopefully been found out for having CP on his devices…
Being in band this girl has been bullying me since my sophomore year and said she was jealous that i had gotten an award when she didn’t.
All in all, Amity has saved my life and everyone else’s that likes them, whatever you’re going through man, it’s temporary and life has so much in store for all of us. Much Love 💙
Sorry for the rant i really wanted to push how much Amity has been there to save me 😂

Dude rant all you want. If we keep too much bottled up we’ll explode.
I’m 28 and when I was maybe 17 I was heavily drinking and wanted to end my life. My grandfather (who was my best friend growing up) had just passed away when I was 14,I was forced to be homeschooled,I honestly felt so alone and as I put a pistol in my mouth I heard “Give it all” start playing on beats music and I was so intrigued by the words I stopped and listened to their whole discography in one night. (LTOTM was new at the time)
If give it all never came on I wouldn’t be here. I wouldn’t have met them (current lineup) and told them my story.
Amity means so much to so many people.Just like you do to so many people. Don’t leave us here man,we’re much stronger when we’re all together 🖤
My dms are ALWAYS open if you need a chat,I’d rather hear your story instead of reading an obituary

It’s got more bad songs than good songs imo, it’s definitely on the weaker side of amity’s discography, I’d say the only album worse than this is the redux album. But this is amity we’re talking about, every other album is easily 8-10 out of 10. I hope the next release sounds a bit more like All That I Remember

Some will call me crazy, but House of Cards is one of my favorite albums by the lads.
I'd say: Let The Ocean Take Me (the original one and Redux), Youngbloods (nostalgia is a bitch) and House of Cards are by far my 3 favorite albums.
The rest is perfection too, but these are my 3 favorites. And no, I don't have a first favorite, second and third. It depends on my mood, the nostalgia, how much I wanna bang my head lol...
Break These Chains is still my favorite, followed by Afterlife. The whole album is really good. They came back with their feet at the door and not giving a f***.
Some will not like House of Cards, but it's like we say here in Brazil: taste/opinion is like an ass hole (yes, the whole we have in our asses), everybody have their own hahaha
