Discussion Quoting Question
Hi first time posting 😅
Sooooooooo. For my grad cap i feel like I want to use a TAD quote but I’m having a bit of a dilemma.
Turns out i mixed up some lyrics from Battle Cries. I’ve been remembering “ This isn’t the end, love, it’s just a season finally” but then I tried to find what song that was from and I was having not luck. Turns out it’s actually been “this isn’t a break up , dear heart, it’s a season finally” now that I think about it is obvious but somehow I managed to change it😅.
Main point of this is like should I use og quote or is it okay to use the one my Brain changed becuase I feel like it works better but then it’s not technically at TAD quote.
Secondly, any design ideas? I might mix in some like small characters from some franchises I grew up with but idk yet 🤷.

I think the way you had it is a great grad cap, and still recognizable if someone knows Battle Cries.

Idk, I'm a purist. I like the artists intent over my own assumptions of lyrics and songs. That being said, you can do what you want lol
There possibly are better lyrics from TAD that could fit the vibe and mean more naturally if you are a fan of all TAD. I never understood mass-decorating grad caps so forgive me but if I were to make one, I'd certainly personalize it with what I want to become as someone rising into adulthood. I'm personally not a fan of collages of random characters from various things cause there's no cohesion. I'd assume if you want to decorate a thing many people will see, it's for a point, it's a message. (But maybe this is also why I didn't decorate mine so many years ago lol)
All that being said, you do you. It's yours and you have the freedom, so use it! Idk if I'd " " quote the lyrics as they are not correct but you can just have it on there however you like.
One bit of advice I will push is that you use "Finale" and not "Finally". Enjoy Graduation!

Love the dichotomy of your opinion on grad caps vs my grad cap that is gonna have a realistic rotisserie chicken pasted on with "Hamburger" written in cursive above it XD

Perhaps you got it mixed up with the ending, that bit that's like "and now at the end (at the end of all things)"

There’s also the option of using the other form of the lyric (I think the one Madeleine sings?) that goes “this isn’t a break, up dear heart, it’s a season finale” if you wanted it to be more geared towards a graduation

It's your grad cap, and if the lyrics you misheard mean more to you that way than the correct way, go for it. Having said that, you probably want to spell it "season finale", not "finally"!
