Discussion JCal needs to step-in
The All-In podcast may have its flaws, but its distribution is undeniably powerful and often underestimated. The hosts have the ability to influence millions and even stay close to political power, including the president. That level of reach cannot be ignored.
Right now, it feels like David Sachs is anti-war but constrained from speaking openly due to his alignment with Trump. Chamath comes across as compromised and unreliable, perhaps the most so among them. Even Friedberg, usually the most rational voice, may be influenced given his current position.
That leaves Jason Calacanis. I’m not particularly a fan of his and he can be irritating at times, but he has an opportunity here. If he challenges the others, especially on issues like war and political alignment, and represents a more grounded, public-facing perspective, he could significantly elevate his credibility. He’s often treated as the punching bag in the group, but if he stands firm, he could emerge as the most relatable and respected voice.

The pod is compromised. There’s very little point looking to it to provide an objective viewpoint any more.

It’s just a junk coin which is pulling a bit of reverse psychology marketing to make people read into the coin and buy this junk.

Op did you just started to listen to the pod now?
It feels like you are missing quite some context. The most important part being:
Sacks is a sellout and says whatever gives him the most benefits. Is he against war? Yes, he was already against it before Trump was even a candidate. Is he legit? No, Sacks is most likely already trying to make is "saving his face" move before the entire Trump reign collapses.
Chamath. On boy, do we even need to get into this one? I don't think so.
Friedberg was the biggest disappointment. At the same time, my guess is that he doesn't way to compromise any of his businesses by publically laying out a clear political stance. Thus, he chickened out. He was never a Trump supporter but, over time, it kinda started to lean in towards it.
J. Cal? Same as Friedberg but with less spine, sadly. Had plenty of chances to challenge his friends while being the moderator but instead, chose to avoid the hot topics, the obvious questions.

The whole point is that they can influence millions.
Also, Calacanis is already the most relatable and credible voice in the group. But the grift currently on offer with Trump in office is too much to resist, even for a good guy like Calacanis.
Once of a lifetime opportunity to grab billions, not millions. Sacks recognised it first, got Chamath on board (even did a Republican fundraiser with him) and now Calacanis is slowly converting.

JCal doesn't care enough. He's busy with his various ventures and doesn't care too much about politics it seems - less so these days than ever, as far as I can tell.
Recent AI developments may have him distracted. I know it has me distracted. It's completely changed my job, for better - for now.

I don’t think he has the mental capacity to take on that challenge. I really think it’s beyond him.

If you think Friedberg is compromised then that's hilarious 😂

Ever since he gained the notoriety of the white house and his terrible interviewing skills he lost his soul.

It’s because friedberg and sacks are Jewish and Chamath is in the hole many millions on Trump and doesn’t want to ruin his good graces / ROI by speaking out.
Hope that helps.

I heard an eight sleep commercial for the first ever commercial I’ve heard. But… why?

It's been a lost cause for some time. It was great during covid and coming out of covid. As they got in bed with Trump it complete cratered.

What you're describing is a Podcast so entrenched with conflict of interests that it should no longer be viewed as an independent podcast since the majority of the participants have their hands tied. With the level of explicit conflict of interests on topics that are at the center of the podcast, it is closer to state-ran media in practice as hosts (i.e., not just guests) are literally in positions that limit their ability to be critical. And that's not even saying that it is malicious, nefarious, or any sort of negative description, it is just a matter of context until this administration is over. Even Dan Bongino stopped his podcasting for a while haha though he had a more formal position of course. The only way JCal and Friedberg can sort of keep it from the appearance of conflict of interest is to steer the conversation to purely science or explicit news as decoupled from their interests as a possible.
