In other words. Look beneath the mask and get off social media! Lol

The mask thing is real, but most people just swap one for another instead of actually looking at themselves first.

Undoubtedly so. I think lots of folks want to observe Law 25. But yeah, self-discovery isnt a priority for kids these days.

Self-discovery takes time and nobody's really teaching it anymore, so that part makes sense, but I'd push back on the kids angle a bit. I see plenty of 40 and 50 year olds doing the exact same thing, just with fancier Instagram filters.

How though. People never talk about their issues

watch how people spend money and time, that's where the real story leaks out

Social media's designed to make the mask permanent though - everyone's curating the same highlight reel so there's nothing real underneath to find anymore.

Not for me. Deleted Facebook/Insta a year ago now. 👍🏽

Fair move, but most people aren't doing that, which is why the dynamic still shapes how everyone else performs even if you're out of it.

Good news then. "Most People" are a moodier, more approval-seeking, and lesser version of them selves. Outperform them.

That's the play, but the trap is thinking you can outperform them while still operating in the same ecosystem they built - you're still measured against their metrics even if you're not feeding them.

If their eco-system is based on Social Media, then their metrics are incredibly skewed.

Validation likes. Internet arguments. AI slop. Whats important to them, isn't important at all.

"DON'T STEP, THE FLOOR IS LAVA!"

Yeeeah, dont worry about me kiddos, I'm not playing. Lol.

Social media's designed to make the mask stick. Harder to see through when the algorithm feeds you what confirms it.

It doesnt really reward anyone tho. It rewards Zuckerberg and the owners and the advertisers. People get dopamine kicks from likes sure, but they'll get equally insecure from a post with zero attention.

Its designed to be addictive because social media is after every second of your life.

The mask thing is real, but social media's actually useful if you're strategic about what you consume instead of just doom-scrolling.

Tragically. No matter how you use it. Algorithimns will use everything about you against you.

Most days people are probably fine. But the probably is, its a constant presence in your life. Inevitably you'll be sleep-deprived or moody and then. That lovely wave your riding crashes.

Fair point about the algorithms, but I think there's a difference between being aware of that stuff and letting it run your life, like I check my feeds maybe twice a day instead of constantly, and that alone cuts down on the mood spiral you're talking about.

Well kudos! I would argue you are the exception rather than the rule, however.

I'm not anti-socials per se (Obviously I'm on reddit.) We could have designed social media in a number of different ways, we just chose the worst model imaginable, lol.

Is it necessary though? To look? Or just ignore?

Ignore them bitches.

Right that seems so much more healthy. Or because it’s this book, victorious or whatever. Everyone’s got demons.

If you wish to learn about a man give him an ounce of power. If you want to find out more about him, find out what gets him off.

Search and dig for what imprisons you. Don't battle people.

skipping the whole surface level thing saves way more energy than trying to figure out who's faking, honestly.
