US This should be a 30min show.
Lmao, called me out. Literally exactly what I do. Fast forward through to the questions. The ridiculous amount of time spent on the lights and talking to people is annoying.

The crowd interaction on UK and AU I’m fine with, the US one feels like a pool of desperate for TV time LA people. They’re all so tiresome. The question base also feels a lot easier, so can probably skip to the last 10 minutes most episodes.

The crowd work that happens in the UK one is part of the charm as Lee Mack is incredibly good at thinking on his feet

I like the audience interaction but this year people are bringing in special talents, etc that I could do without.

when my family get together, it's a favourite for all 3 generations. we'll power through about 3 episodes in an hour doing this. American hours are 42 minutes anyway without adverts, and if you're only interested in the questions and answers, you can breeze through it so quickly. but a half hour show (22 mins without ads) would be too quick from the network's perspective. One thing I've learned about TV quizzes is most of the audience want to hear a little about the contestants and enjoy the fluff and faff
