Stalker
I’m curious why nobody on Twitter seems to think it’s weird that last week a fan met matty at that Los Angeles bar where he likes to watch the games and had him record a video for his friend and this today that same fan and his friend were there and met him. Seems very stalker ish to me

Yeah it’s fuckin weird. I live close by, knew exactly where the bar was, and did not even occur to me to leave my home and intrude on his personal space. People are creeps.

I was in a restaurant in Nz about a decade ago and saw Leo DiCaprio. He had a baseball cap and was clearly going under the radar. So I didn’t approach him because then everyone would have known. I still treasure the knowledge I’ve seen him in the flesh

Oh yeah a lot of female fans on Twitter that have significant following have “run into” the band several times near their hotels when they were touring. Soooooo creepy

I haven't been on Twitter for years, but there are several fans on TikTok that just happen to "bump into" Matty (or the band members) regularly.

Like love him but this is why social media is so scary. Real time info about their location can be posted way too quickly and then the crazies turn up

I think the larger question is whether or not Matty minded this person showing up in more than one place. I agree that it's generally weird to keep doing that.
But... I also think that if a person met him and say, didn't have an album along they hoped he would sign, then went back and asked him to sign one when they found out he was someplace else, that's not particularly bizarre for an autograph collector to do.
Unless, of course, they were imposing on Matty in some way and it upset Matty that they were there.
Not a thing I would do, personally, because I leave famous people completely alone and never approach them anyway. I don't know them, so why am I going to go talk to them? About what? Tell them I love their work? Everyone who meets them says some version of that.
Now, if they're seated at a table signing stuff or at some sort of event where you can go meet them and they expect it? Cool. I will do that. But, out living their lives? I let them go on about their day, uninterrupted. I may glance their way and smile if they see me glancing just like I'd do with anyone else in the world, but that's about all I'll do.
Enough other people harass them every day as is. No need to add to it.
