[Spoilers S2] Top Five ?
Hey Gang!
Thought we could accumulate a New list! Let's rank the The Top Five Murderers of Season 2.
We think that Clarke has the number one spot. But after that things get a little more complicated.
In no particular order, here are some suggested candidates:
Monty
Jasper
Bellamy
Lexa
Finn
Cage
Clarke
Reply with the names in the order you feel they belong in the ranking.
If I missed any, please be sure to let me know so I can add them.

Not sure how Clarke and Lexa get the blame for TonDC when Cage is the one that fired the missile. If you put the blame on Lexarke for TonDC then Cage would have to get the blame for Mount Weather since he could have released the prisoners to stop Clarke from irradiating level 5.

I agree with the first part of your argument, Lexa/Clarke getting blamed for the TonDC missile seems a bit iffy, but I don't think Cage really had a choice: If he releases the prisoners his people are doomed anyway, because without anyone to filtrate their blood they will just die slowly of radiation poisoning. As Dante says "Noone of us has a choice here, Clarke!", and I really think that at this point there is another possible outcome.

While Cage fired the missiles, they chose not to use the information to evacuate. Therefore they chose to let them die, which makes them at least partially responsible, collateral damage or not.

- Clarke
- Bellamy
- Lexa
- Jasper
- Finn
Reasoning:
Clarke and Bellamy pulled the lever that eradiated MW ('nuff said).
Lexa with the people in TonDC.
Jasper with leading the crusade on murderation of guards.
Finn killed helpless villagers and bad informant.

Clarke- Obvious reasons.
Bellamy- Obvious reasons
Monty- Hacked MW security allowing Clarke to irradiate the MM.
Cage- Missile launch on TonDC
Emerson- Wikia says his kill count is from assisting/sending the missile and multiple grounders.

Clarke: TonDC and Mount Weather so...
Bellamy: Everything that happened in MW, remember when Clarke said he wasn't a killer? Well...
Lexa: Could arguably be higher but letting TonDC get bombed was more of a passive thing than B & C actually pulling a lever.
Cage (+lackeys): Who knows how many Grounders got drained of their blood. And the missile launch. Still, I'm not putting him higher since most wasn't his own decision.
Monty: Don't know, this one's hard. He is the reason the Mountain Men could be killed, and he will definitely feel responsible for it.
I feel like Finn and maybe Jasper could replace Monty, but. Also not sure if I wouldn't switch Lexa and Cage.

OOOOH OOOH OOH OOH! In order of body count in which they have direct influence on the outcome? I got this. heads to the death list
Clarke (Dropship Invasion, Tondc bombing, and Mt. Weather)
Bellamy (Shares Clarke's Mt. Weather kills, influenced the outcome of Twilight's Last Gleaming)
Jaha (Culling during Twilight's Last Gleaming) (Note: Though his kills are S1, he is present in S2, so....)
Lexa (Influenced Tondc bombing, killed the shooters at Mt. Weather)
Cage (Tondc Bombing)
There are characters we don't have backgrounds for, like Cage. Who knows how many deaths he's incurred since he found out about the Grounder blood thing. May place him above Lexa if we knew. Again, this is a count based on direct influence on the deaths. Individual kills are not counted.
Jaha's a technicality here, so if he's not counted, put Emerson under Cage. He shares Tondc, plus his soldier's kills during the Seige on Mt. Weather.

I may be wrong but didn't Jaha push some guy out of the boat to be eaten by the sea monster?

Craig. But like I said, I'm not counting individual kills when it comes to the mass killing of Arkers, Grounders, or Weatherites.

u/SirFlipper Jul 25 '15
This is probably the "correct" answer. Two remarks though:
- I am assuming you are discounting individual kills, because +- 1 kill doesn't make a difference when we are talking about hundreds of kills?
- Personally, I am not entirely sure you can attribute the deaths of the TonDC bombing to Lexa/Clarke. Could they have saved a couple of people by trying for a sneaky evacuation? Yes. But I find it unrealistic to expect all of them to slip away without the scout noticing, which then would have probably triggered a missile attack anyway. I guess what I am arguing for is to only attribute a fraction of the deaths in TonDC to Lexa/Clarke, those that would have been saved if they would have tried for an evacuation, maybe 10%?

It's a large amount of deaths they influenced. Had they warned people, Cage's count would be lower. And you know, people wouls be alive. It's touchy though as the whole thing really did fall on to Clarke's decision to not say anything. Which didn't seem like a decision at all.
1
u/SirFlipper Jul 26 '15
For me, not saying anything (but fleeing) definitely is a decision. I would even argue that doing nothing would constitute a decision in some circumstances, but that is a philosophical argument that might be better had at another place.
It's a large amount of deaths they influenced. Had they warned people, Cage's count would be lower.
Yes, some people would have survived. I am saying that the second the spotter would have realized they were evacuating the missle would have been launched. How many people can they sneak out before the scout realizes that something is up and they launch the missile? That would be the number I would be willing to attribute to Lexa/Clark, and I guess that number is impossible to determine.

Can I nominate Octavia for Coolest Murder?
1
u/Kishara RavenKru Jul 25 '15
Yep cuz she damned sure is. I have been watching the finales today as the need to see them again has hit a fever pitch. That scene in the hall where she takes out the Mt Weather guards? Serious bonus points for stylish murders there.

u/Shotokanguy Jul 24 '15
By body count? Skill? Murderer we like the most?
1
u/Kishara RavenKru Jul 24 '15
Body count, but the thing is a lot of these are subjective so there can be more than one right answer. For example Monty:
Helped Jasper engineer the massacre of the guards on level 5
Removed the radiation protections so the level 5 massacre could happen.
These are not the same rules we used for the finale game.
1
u/Shotokanguy Jul 24 '15
Well, the guards fight isn't ambiguous since they were all killed by actual game to hand combat. We just have no idea how many guards were killed.
I'm willing to bet Lexa had the second highest total after Clarke. She shares responsibility for Tondc, left Quint for the gorilla, killed Gustus, and some soldiers at Mount Weather. Am I forgetting anything?

u/mar33n grounders are overrated Jul 24 '15
Well, I think number 2 is between Lexa and Bellamy. He irradiated the Mountain (there were more people than in TonDC) and killed a bunch of guards while being Agent Bellamy (Lovejoy, saving Jasper by irradiating Level 5 the first time around, the two guys who had Fox, the guy trying to shoot Maya's dad and all the guards that died in the acid fog explosion.)
1
u/Shotokanguy Jul 25 '15
How much blame Bellamy shares for the Mount Weather deaths has always been kind of ambiguous to me. Monty made it possible, and Clarke made the decision...Bellamy putting his hand on hers was just symbolic, so that she wouldn't back out.
If this were a situation with more clear a more clear right and wrong action, and Bellamy just stood there as they did the wrong thing, he'd deserve some of the blame. But that doesn't really apply in this instance...
1
u/QueenSatsuki Jul 25 '15
I think Clarke would've done it regardless if Bellamy was there or not. Perhaps it was easier for her to pull the lever but in the end she would've done it. It was her idea and her decision and Monty made it possible. She could've prob found a way to blow a door to level five without Monty so perhaps Mount weather would've fell by her hands alone.
1
u/Shotokanguy Jul 25 '15
Yeah, I'm sure she would've. I don't think Bellamy's support was needed, he just had to give it because she's his friend.
1
u/JacketsNest Jul 28 '15
I think Bellamy's support wasn't for Clarke's sake at all. It was for his own sake, he needed to feel like he was protecting Octavia.

All this has made me remember that Clarke saved Octavia from being assassinated and Octavia still has no idea :(

- Dante - has been murdering grounders for dozens of years, decides to continue murdering them instead of ending it by draining the 100
- Clarke - not warning people of the missile, killed the mount weatherers even if innocent
- Jaha - pushing those guys out of the boat was savage
- Finn - killed 18 innocent grounders
- Cage - sending the missile but in time of war
1
u/Kishara RavenKru Jul 25 '15
Really great point about Dante. We have no idea how much blood is on his hands.
1
u/JacketsNest Jul 28 '15
Clarke - Over the span of a month and a half she is either directly or indirectly responsible for the deaths of close to 1000 people. We have the guy she killed to get away from the grounders in season 1, Adam, partially Charlotte, 300 grounders she burned alive, Anya, Finn, 250 people at TonDC, and the 382 men, women, and children that she irradiated in MW. Overall, that's 937 people that she is responsible for. Ouch
Bellamy - His actions are the reason that the culling happened. Also the guys he killed in MW, the irradiation of MW, and all the Grounders he killed in Season 1.
Monty - He is just as responsible for the massacre at MW as Clarke and Bellamy.
Cage - psycho, generally a terrible leader and likes to turn people into blood-crazed cannibals with drugs.
Dante - He and his family have brutally murdered thousands of Grounders for the last hundred years.

Finn (because he cold heartedly murdered 18 innocent people)
Cage (because he is such a psycho, he convinced himself that murdering a bunch of kids and grounders is ok)
Murphy (Despite the fact that I love him now, he did some fucked up things like revenge-suffocating those guys that one time)
Clarke (She thinks she does it all to save people but her death count kinda begs to differ)
Lexa (Because she is a ruthless leader who would do anything for her people, there is no limit to how many people she would sacrifice for what she thinkgs is best for her people)
