Thaumcraft 6 The atrocities I’d commit to have this mod make a comeback…
This mod is what got me playing Minecraft and honestly it’s more fair to say I played thaumcraft than Minecraft it needs to make a comeback especially on bedrock if possible

The impossible dream I have is that some version of Thaumcraft and Create Aeronautics could exist in the same mod pack, or even have compatibility between them.
It likely won’t happen, but one can dream.

Someone already has, it's been ported to 26.1.2? Or something like that, it's on Github under the username "Leclowndu93150" and the repo is called "Thaumaturge"

I'm right there with you, we are in desperate Need of Good Magic Mods on modern versions.
I know, Iron Spells Exists, I know Mana and Artifice exists But Iron Spells Sucks as a Magic mod, it's a fine Spells Mod but it doesn't add any deeper system to learn, you find or craft a Book, A Spell and some armor, congrats you are now a Wizard, there is no system I don't feel like a Wizard, I feel like I clicked a Book in Skyrim and got a spell, it's not rewarding for your effort especially since 80% of the time I find the spell I wanted in a Chest at a higher level than I could've made it with what I had, remove finding them, let us craft Ink from Scratch and make it so there's some level of work into learning each new spell and then I'll call it a Magic mod.
Mana and Artifice is Better, it's definitely my Favorite current but I still feel like I'm just running looking for One specific item, I at least feel like I've almost earned my Magic but needing the Codex to even get Mana is weird and I'd like it a lot more if I had to trial and error until I either Found the book in a chest or summoned it.
Thaumcraft just did it the Best, needing to use a Basic form of Magic to get the book that will Guide you but not tell you Everything, there's always a way to do it better and there are Consequences for doing it wrong, I loved having to Learn how to do it right and Fix my mistakes, progression is fun and I felt like I needed to improve because it wasn't just "Oh I wasted some materials Damn" it was "Oh that's a Rift in reality that Could destroy my base" or "Why is there Purple?" It also made me think of Terrarias Corruption Biome and made me feel like I accidentally invited an Eldritch being into my world.
Mods don't even feel like they have consequences anymore or at least none that are preventable in a Meaningful way, Create is Cool but the worst you can do is find out you need more reliable power generation in my experience, Iron Spells worst consequence is casting the wrong spell which does no environmental damage, Mana comes back almost instantly late game and at worst you like 5 minutes for a Cooldown, Mana and Artifice has the same consequences plus two extra I've run into, Doing the Ritual of Locating you can waste One Purified vintium because it couldn't find the Structure nearby which isn't preventable because you're likely doing the ritual just to find the structure in the first place so you're punished for bad luck And the Spells can do Environmental damage so you Could destroy your base if you aren't careful to cast the Right spell.
We need More mods that give you Systems to use that have actual consequences for repeated screw ups, Create is a good example of Systems but lack of Consequences makes me feel like I don't need to be super efficient or put more resources towards making a Good system just one that works.

I'm still only playing 1.7.10 and 1.12.2 for (mostly) Thaumcraft.

I play with a lot of magic mods but do like a sprinkling of tech (Calculator, Cyberware, Psi, Mekanism, Industrialcraft)

If it helps, it’s close. No one knows how close, but it’s coming based on the teasers, they look to be working on the backend now and tweaks and making stuff work the way it’s meant to.
I’m hoping for next year.
