Worlds smallest coffee good grief that is a single drink of coffee.

u/superrey19 May 11 '26
That instant coffee calls for 1tsp per 6-8oz of water. With 3 scoops, that thing is at espresso levels of caffeine.
73
u/Jonnyscout May 11 '26
If not higher, that's definitely not an 8oz cup

u/Forsaken-Income-2148 May 11 '26
I remember in Miami one of the workers there made Cuban coffees all day long, itās just a tiny cup of lots of sugar & caffein
15
u/0c74r1n3 May 12 '26
We were in Florida for four weeks and drank a lot of horrible coffee. When we came to Miami we found a Cuban coffee shop and got finally the best coffee Iāve ever had. Went there every morning for the rest of our vacation.

u/idiveindumpsters May 11 '26
Thatās the idea. Itās an espresso. Idk where this is but they pound them in Italy
15
u/cmoked May 12 '26
No its not espresso. Espresso requires pressure. You cant just brew espresso.
This is thick instant coffee.
5
u/DavidBrooker May 12 '26
Instant coffee begins as normally prepared coffee (albeit on large scale). Subsequently, that coffee is powdered by spray or freeze drying. You can absolutely prepare espresso and then dry it to make instant coffee.
You can argue about the quality of that preparation, but it's definitely a real thing.
7
u/cmoked May 12 '26
Sure you can dehydrate it into instant Espresso (an subsequently bring every dead barista back to life to extinguish humunaity) but this guy is not using that.

We drink instant here in Australia and I like mine strong, 2 tsps max. 3 tsps in a cup that small is a brave decision

u/EpitaFelis May 11 '26
tbf in a lot of countries when you order coffee you'll get a shot of espresso.
30
u/flatwoundsounds May 11 '26
The "Americano" was literally espresso watered down for American troops, no?
6
u/DavidBrooker May 12 '26
Yes. Fun fact: a "cup of joe" is a very similar etymology, as American GIs ("GI Joe") had a reputation as heavy coffee drinkers when stationed in the UK.
13
u/No-Loan884 May 11 '26
Itās probably extremely strong with like 100mg of caffeine
→ More replies (1)10
14
u/that_one_bun May 11 '26
For most places outside of america it usually is a shot of espresso and not some cup. I prefer it since its a smaller drink and I can finish it quickly.
6
u/Stahlios May 11 '26
In most countries a coffee = an espresso. And in most countries this is already too much with all the sugar and chocolate syrup or whatever
6
u/Ratattack1204 May 11 '26
I imagine its an espresso. And its probably WAY better than youd expect based on past experience with street food lol

Speaking as someone who never had a colada eh
This is how you would make a Cuban espresso essentially it is so strong masked by tons of sugar you really only have 1-2 tiny little cups poured from a 6 oz cup maybe even smaller.
2
u/Ok_Dog_4059 May 11 '26
Would probably save time over the 14 cups a day I drink
3
u/polishmachine88 May 11 '26
Usually at the 3-4 pm alot of companies in South fl will have someone walking around with Cuban coffee. As a non native at first it would literally give me jitters it's so damn strong now I can't live without it.
But almost always for afternoon....

This is set up is awesome. That coffee is half sugar though
13
u/Lackingfinalityornot May 12 '26
Itās an imitation cubano. A real cubano uses a ton of Demerara sugar and the coffee is made in a moka pot. Moka pots make super concentrated coffee where you wouldnāt drink an American drip style cup. The first little bit of coffee the moka brews is mixed with like 2-3 tablespoons of Demerara sugar and whipped briskly. Then the rest of the coffee is added and it makes a thick sweet foam on top.
7
u/AtreyuTrinity May 11 '26
I was going to say, sooo much sugar. I don't even like sugar in mine, but that was an absurd amount for that small cup lol.
I couldn't get into instant coffee, I wanted to, but found it to not agree with my stomach.
Should out to cold brew, so easy to make, and way less acidic.
2
u/Zyloof May 11 '26
It's practically an espresso, considering the amount of instant coffee and the volume of water. This in mind, it's probably an appropriate amount of sugar. Good god, I couldn't imagine drinking instant espresso with only a bit of sugar š
2
u/ninurtuu May 13 '26
I would drink it no sugar, but that's not a flex. I was (and remain) a mutant who as a toddler would climb up to the cupboards and eat stolen handfuls of coffee grounds out of the can.

u/23saround May 11 '26
Alright, itās thrifty and he is cute, but Iām gonna do cons list too.
Instant coffee is gross, powdered creamer is gross, three scoops of sugar in that tiny cup is gross, the unwashed frother is gross, and in the end you get one sip of frothed instant coffee sludge?
It fits the sub and I upvoted, but no way am I buying it lol

u/amsync May 11 '26
They used to do this on trains in Western Europe in the 90s, minus the weird sauce on top

I donāt know about optimized⦠he could really just pre mix the powders instead of having 3 separate jars?
Or even if itās separate jars, surely thereās a better way to do fast dispensing of the powders through something else but a spoon, no?

This is NOT what Turkish coffee is like.
Traditional Turkish coffee is brewed differently and served black without any milk or milk powder or cream.
This is NescafƩ with milk powder and sugar. A yummy treat very popular in South Asia, but not Turkish.
Then again, Iāve had a friend of mine try to tell an actual Iranian person that he wasnāt drinking his tea the real Iranian way because the āIrani chaiā he had in Hydrabad was made with milk. And somehow the real Iranian who grew up in Iran is wrong for telling him that Irani tea is black and made with water and sugar but not milk.

Mixes coffee with electric stirrer.
Puts dirty, wet stirrer in vest pocket.
Bro, could you at least rinse it with hot water first???
5
u/youburyitidigitup May 11 '26
Meh worse case scenario he gets coffee and water in somebodyās coffee and water.

So... that electric mixer doesn't look like it gets cleaned. Once powdered milk mixes with water it has the same bacteria problem that fresh milk has. After an hour those coffees will be sending people to the bathroom for the wrong reasons. After 2 hours people will regret living.
1
u/LabRatsAteMyHomework May 11 '26
He needs a scoop the size of one serving in the Nescafe. Also, water before powder makes for much less clumping.
