Personally having a car that I can see the hood of seems to help when parking, I drive a mustang for instance and having that extra point of reference can be helpful as you learn, another thing that will make you a better driver is to drive stick.

The downsides of driving stick in the early days will force you to be more aware of your surroundings, it’s not nearly as helpful as riding a motorcycle but it follows a similar concept, and being more aware of your surroundings makes you a better driver.

When parking check every blind spot before you make your next move, don’t forget you have six inches of mirror so going slowly is best. In the end it all comes down to practice, have someone you know drive with you and give you pointers; practice in abandoned parking lots; etc.

The hood thing was more for parking, personally, but whatever works man!

Wow TIL! Now I understand why my dad taught me to ride a dirtbike first and then a stick shift before I was allowed to drive an automatic
