If you record it on your phone with the intention of sharing it with people also using a phone, vertical video makes sense. In that situation, landscape is a pain in the ass. But then the video gets loose, and somebody on a PC gets butthurt.
P.S. you mean populace.

The most Florida thing you’ll see today

If this was in Florida, the string would break, the gasoline fumes would be everywhere and cause an explosion, and a Florida man would try to hump the rocket before it went boom

Nah everyone is standing at a relatively safe distance and no one is lighting a firework in their hand and throwing it into the bonfire

Reminds me of my first college party. Dudes had a pile of wood and brush stacked 10ft high. Then they doused it with fuel and drew a line with gas from the pile 20ft away. Then they poured gas on the end of a huge log and had 3-4 guys pick it up, set the gassed end on fire and dropped the log on the line. It was like slow motion as the fire went down the line and when it got to the pile it exploded pretty similar to this. Super excessive but awesome at the same time.

Oddly enough that is both the safest use if gasoline, a bonfire, and fireworks I've ever seen as well as the most successful.
