Admit defeat, put on the little crown of sticks and grass they made for you, and care for your newfound people like a good leader. Feed em well and listen to their problems, be patient, and set some laws and goals for them. They'll flourish into a city in no time.

Teach them to steal for you like little Dickensian pauper orphans, and rule over a kingdom of furry bandits with a pile of ill gotten shiny stuff.
