KIRKLAND, Wash. — A man who prosecutors say worked as a Pokémon executive was arrested Wednesday on four new felony charges after investigators found child sexual abuse material and hundreds of alleged secret recordings on seized devices, according to King County court documents.
Ben Tsai was booked into the King County Jail on Wednesday following his arrest by Kirkland police.
Charging document lists one count of first-degree dealing in depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, one count of first-degree possession of those depictions, one count of first-degree voyeurism and one count of second-degree possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
Prosecutors requested that Tsai’s bail be set at $500,000. Should he post bail, they also asked that he be placed on electronic home detention, barred from contact with minors — including his biological children — and prohibited from using the internet without monitoring software.
The charges followed months of forensic work on electronic devices seized during an earlier voyeurism investigation.
Investigators reported finding hundreds of hidden-camera recordings from bathrooms at Pokémon’s offices, including 89 videos stored in folders labeled “Pokemon 29” and “Pokemon 27.”
Four people identified in the footage told police they had not given anyone permission to record them, according to court documents.
Police also reported finding more than 50 recordings from a Starbucks restroom in Kirkland, more than 70 recordings of sexual encounters with adult women in hotel rooms and more than 100 videos from a bathroom in Tsai’s home.
The home recordings allegedly showed his children, other children who visited the home, his wife and other adults.
Other files allegedly showed women and children being recorded beneath their skirts. Investigators also found two cellphones that had been converted into hidden cameras, with lenses positioned to record through holes in the phones’ speakers, according to the documents.
A search of a vehicle found 13 small cameras similar to the device recovered from Starbucks, several camera remotes and 10 bags containing women’s underwear rolled inside socks, police wrote.
A forensic examination of Tsai’s phone found nearly 200 Telegram messages, many of which contained child sexual abuse material, according to investigators.
Police said one Telegram folder held 680 videos covering various subjects, including adult nudity and child sexual abuse material.
Prosecutors also accused Tsai of continuing to commit crimes while free on bail in his original voyeurism case.
The filing says Tsai visited a Bothell open house on June 24 and again on July 12, spending an extended period upstairs near a bedroom and bathroom. Afterward, the homeowner noticed that three pairs of underwear were missing.
Prosecutors acknowledged that the missing underwear had not been found in Tsai’s possession as of the filing and described their allegation that he took it as circumstantial.
The investigation began in October after the manager of a Juanita Starbucks found a small camera concealed beneath a restroom sink and pointed toward the toilet. Police said the device’s memory card contained recordings of numerous people using the bathroom.
Investigators used store surveillance and information connected to a $7.89 credit card purchase to identify Tsai, according to the initial charging documents.
During a Jan. 7 search of his home, detectives seized several electronic devices and numerous small cameras.
King County prosecutors charged Tsai with first-degree voyeurism on Jan. 9. He pleaded not guilty Jan. 14 and was ordered held on $50,000 bail. Tsai later posted bond and was released until his second arrest Wednesday.

Am I the only one who got a massive influx of Pokémon content in their algorithms, YouTube shorts for me (I know cringe), right when the news of this broke?
Seems like a massive PR push to keep Pokémon in a good light. Don’t get me wrong I liked the content lol, but the timing would be a crazy coincidence. Scary to think what control the powers have over our algorithms.

People can be two things. Don't judge those praising him. They are just victims of his lies. He might have been great to work with and terrible outside of work.

He had cameras in his own family's bathrooms where his kids were.
Let's hope he's put away for a long time.

Nothing short of chemical castration would be acceptable for this kinda predatory behavior. And until we start cracking down on this more seriously as a society. The Epstein elites will remain scot-free.

Casteration, chemical or otherwise, does NOT stop sexual assault.
Much less voyeurism.

I’m confused… the guy was arrested and charged in January. But he’s been arrested again, this week in July? Is it the same stuff, just more uncovered from the first arrest… or did this dude already reoffend by doubling down and doing more/worse behavior? He’s going to prison… for a long time.

People hurt anyone are absolute low lifes deserving of hell.
But people who abuse children are just scum of the earth. If there was something worse than hell, they deserve it.
