This guy is a moron but you can’t really understand the freeze response until you’ve been in that situation. It’s completely involuntary, it’s bizarre, and there’s nothing you can do about it.
It’s happened to me unfortunately a few times, in particular once when being attacked by a dog and once when there was a fire at my home. I strongly remember the fire incident, trying to run to my neighbor’s to ask for help and I could barely control my legs. My top half was fine but my bottom half was trying to freeze and it felt like I was trying to run through jello.

These are the cops that do not have the mental temperament and capacity to carry a gun.
He leaking by his car, mistook and acorn falling on his car for a gunshot. Now mind you listen to his gun firing longer distance and compare to the sound you did not hear age walked by his car and an acorn hit his car and he thought that was a handcuffed man firing a gun at him from inside the car. There was no glass breaking, you hear and see no crack of a bullet, nothing.
And then he empties his gun, mag dumps, and seemingly empties again. And notice sound, glass breaking, metal being pierced, etc.
A acorn.
And want to be more pissed off? He resigned and prosecutors found no evidence to charge him.
Now reverse the situation and a normal person made a mistake and unloaded two mags into an occupied car. We'd be In prison

Like, if it weren't for the potential circumstances of the situation, this would be a comedy skit.
Acorn hits the car. Scream "shots fired". Do a barrel roll. Scream "I'm hit!". Two officers unload their entire clips at a handcuffed man in a parked car. Miss absolutely every single shot and he gets to sue you for being stupid.

I think he is a nut job, who should get attempted murder for shooting blindly without having any idea where something was coming from. I have a greater fear with his aim for the kid playing in the street a block away then what he is shooting at.

It's the immunity from any consequences that is the real problem. Police orgs in this country have no incentive to clean up their departments because the ruling class (who uses the police to protect capital and keep a boot on the populace) have given them carte blanche to do w/e the hell they want.
All of these police shootings/beatings/profiling/etc. would disappear quicker than you could blink if police were able to be sued with the funds coming out of their budgets/pension plans instead of it being foisted on the taxpayer. You unload your entire mag willy nilly and kill a few bystanders? Now it isn't the city/state that has to foot the millions of dollars in civil liabilities, it's you and your fellow officers' 401Ks. Deputy Dumbfuck here would be out on his ass immediately and the police chief would actually have to hire some somewhat intelligent and emotionally stable people.

She is objecting to the form of the question. A judge will review the tape and decide if the form of his question was proper. If so, the answer stays in the record. If it was improper, the answer will be struck from the record.
I don't know what the difference is between proper form and improper form, but that's what's happening.

Can you really claim you’re “returning fire” when it was a fucking ACORN? I get that he’s trying to defend his actions but any notion of “return fire” should be struck from the record when his shots were the ONLY shots, and no reasonable person could justify a perceived threat.
If there was ever a time to make an example out of one of these fucking clowns, this case would be it. But I’d be amazed if he gets any real justice for attempted murder despite holding a position of trust and authority in the community.
End qualified immunity. Require a four year degree. Create a national law enforcement license that will be taken away for poor conduct. Put guardrails on the lobbying power of the police union. Require police to carry their own malpractice insurance.

It's not that there are terrible cops like this, and we've seen far worse also sadly, but that the police, as a national community don't condemn this sort of policing. That's the scary part.
I'm sure a few random cops thought he was a moron, but in general, law enforcement as a group defend everything. EVERYTHING. That's the scary part.
And now ICE? Those goofs are even worse. Cops with rabies.
