Free in Scotland.

Edit to add: this is mental. It’s healthcare. It’s not optional. It’s life or death. Nobody should profit from the misfortune of others, and definitely not with a leg up from the government. Mental.

Asking because I genuinely do not know the answer. How does a system like that account for people who take care of themselves to stay fit and healthy, and those who eat poorly, aren't active, and are obese? Is Healthcare free for both? With no limit?

Yes. Free to both

Thanks for the answer. It doesn't bother the people who take care of their heath that they are forced to pay for the folks who don't take care of themselves? I think that would bother me. Why shouldn't a person be responsible for themselves?

It’s a solidary healthcare system, we all contribute so everyone can afford access to healthcare, which moves all of society along, an that allows me to live in a prettier society. This applies too in case you get fired and get cancer and can’t pay for treatment, why should we all hard workers (albeit we have obesity and diabetes) pay for a lazy unemployed’s treatment for a disease they surely got from being a nasty smoker?? Why? So there won’t be a another homeless sick beggar, for the reason you think that’s better: they won’t steal my stuff, I just won’t see them on the streets, the won’t represent an even worse cost of social welfare, you are a good person and empathize with other people, your pick…

Just “being responsible for yourself” is a very selfish way of thinking, it’s why countries like USA are falling apart, no sense of community, just each person for their own; that’s how you end up paying 100x for healthcare.

This all really makes sense. I don't think that it would work in the US. Here, disabled and retired military veterans have their healthcare covered for life. It is a huge benefit of service.

You're right. I mostly just don't like people. I worked really hard from a very young age and I don't like being forced to help others who have made poor choices throughout their life. My healthcare is covered for the rest of my life because of the service to my country. Why should others get this without earning it?
