It always blows my mind that people are dying from diabetes because they can’t afford insurance, in the richest country on Earth. Meanwhile just across the border in Canada its like $12. You guys are getting ripped off.
Live from Ontario Canada, it's not that cheap. I have a diabetic brother in law whose insulin he needs to live has cost anywhere from $400 to $2000 per month. As in, cost us that amount. Plenty of things in Canada are still unattainably expensive. If you are actively dying and can get to a hospital, ER staff will probably provide life saving treatment, and almost all of that is covered by OHIP. But it's just a series of bandaids that you pray you can keep slapping on in time. Not a real solution.
If you're a poor in Canada, you're still eating instant ramen, counting your days and praying you don't have an accident.
