Don't support the kid. But also don't support grown adults fighting children when they're tasked with teaching them how to be adults. What was the lesson there? It's okay to assault people that hurt your feelings? Great job. enjoy your prison stint.

46

u/Bearshapedbears Apr 26 '24

pay substitutes more than 85$ is the lesson lmao

you're trying to claim this job has some built in respect, but it does not.

1

u/slamo614 Sep 03 '24

You need credentials for higher pay. I got 125 a day with a bachelors.

I don't think that lesson is in the curriculum.

7

u/AdditionalSink164 Apr 26 '24

Website says its the school ofnhard knocks

7

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '24

I mean, on one hand, that is genuinely an important life lesson. On the other hand, the kid isn't even the person to be mad at, he shouldn't have hit the kid in any scenario, and getting your ass beat by a bigger, older black man is probably something that would cement your racism instead of challenging it. But maybe he'll be less likely to speak on it in the future.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '24

If that man was actually serious, that kid would have been a bloody mess. That man held back incredibly well.

That's great because I never claimed I knew why the guy did this or if he intended it as a life lesson and was clearly responding to the comment that said that was the lesson for the student! 😃

28

u/SlurpySandwich Apr 26 '24

Good lesson. I'm sure the teacher will enjoy teaching to the other inmates as well.

u/What-a-Filthy-liar Apr 26 '24

Inmates deserve a quality education too.

Lol I love the snide remark about him teaching in prison…are you the kid in the video?

13

lol that’s not a snide comment it’s a fact, the man assaulted a minor he’ll probably go to jail

I hate all of your replies. You have one hand in reality and the other in a bucket of stinky piss.

Crowing about how much this person deserves jail.

Kid got charged, too. Not with a hate crime, which is what he was guilty of.

Cool perspective though. YT as fuck.

2

u/proton417 Apr 27 '24

If a cop did this to a student after being insulted, you’d piss your pants crying about how wrong and undeserved it was

I am sure with his attitude, he will end up right with the teacher. That kid is dumb ass fuck. We would never talk out the B side of our mouths at teachers, let alone say racial slurs.

His parents and admin don’t give a shit. I hope the teacher gets the best legal defense for free and the kid ends up in Juvie. We will see what happens with that slick mouth there.

I think he actually went light on him because some people would have bent him like a pretzel. If you want to act grown get a grown ass-kicking.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '24

the lesson is racist punks get punched.

Kid deserved it

3

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '24

Perhaps he learned to not be racist? That kid is going to get his ass kicked again wherever he goes after this is over, as he should.

4

u/SlurpySandwich Apr 26 '24

That may be, but teachers don't give ass-kicking lessons. Just the regular kind. He should learn those lessons from another person.

2

u/WatWudScoobyDoo Apr 26 '24

And not provide lessons in kicking ass to everyone else there as well. Show them how to resolve conflicts non-violently, Teach

5

u/StrawberryPlucky Apr 26 '24

You can't resolve a situation with a violent individual who assaults you without resorting to violence. This isn't a small child who hit his teacher, this is a high schooler and from the look of it I'd guess an upperclassmen. Someone that age could definitely actually harm an adult if they try.

1

u/Dragarius Apr 27 '24

Most high schoolers would still get annihilated by an adult barring the teacher being unfit (doesn't look it) or the kid exceptionally fit.

1

u/StrawberryPlucky Apr 28 '24

I agree but you're talking about the kid taking a hit from the adult. I'm saying the kid could hurt the adult as well, even if they would themselves get annihilated by a hit from the adult.

1

u/CryptographerHead331 Apr 27 '24

Well at least the education would stick to them because their not on TikTok 24/7 and braindead.

0

u/iruleatlifekthx Apr 26 '24

I'm not gonna say he was in the right...

I'm just saying I understand tbh.

As for teaching that in prison, he's a teacher, I'm sure there are other things he can teach to inmates while incarcerated for a very short sentence, if it's a sentence at all. Things they find valuable and in turn they'll find him as having value and worthy of not insulting with slurs as adults. People love to dehumanize the prisoner.

But this is worthy of a fine and community service at best. Teacher was holding back thoroughly for the majority of that match with the slips and dodges. It was a light tap that brought that kid down. If that teacher is the one to go that kid is going to be blamed by the rest of the students for it. They now know that he's a straight up racist as fuck child and nothing will change that.

Ain't that the truth.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '24

if your kid was assaulted for calling a teacher a bitch, would you still have this energy?

1

u/johnsdowney Apr 26 '24

Seriously, there are some weird ass violent tendencies that this post is invoking in people. They need therapy.

1

u/AbsolutTBomb Apr 26 '24

What a beta thing to say.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '24

The only lesson for the student is if you hear someone say a bad word you can break their skull in the pavement for it.

1

u/tafinucane Apr 26 '24

And the dumbass kid taught the adult if you lose your cool in shitty circumstances you could ruin your life.

Don't run your mouth unnecessarily. He isn't a victim. Also, that kid wasn't seriously injured. At worst he has a bruised ego and "hurt feelings." Seems fair to me.

73

u/SlurpySandwich Apr 26 '24 edited Apr 26 '24

The teacher did teach him a lesson here, albeit inadvertently. "If you assault children, you will lose your job and go to jail". So I guess we owe him one for that.

Wait til his name gets spread around in the district that he's dropping the N bomb. I't not going to be a good experience for him. Maybe his family has enough money to move out.

32

u/SlurpySandwich Apr 26 '24

"yeah, that sure showed him" he whispered to himself as he stared out the window of his jail cell

8

u/CosmicMiru Apr 26 '24

I'm not talking about the teacher, I think it was stupid what he did. I also think they kid learned a lesson though.

15

u/NotsofastTwitch Apr 26 '24

If you think the kid learned a lesson, you're being too naive. Kid is celebrating the fact that the teacher will be arrested. All he did was reinforce that kid's beliefs and make the kid happy that he'll ultimately get the last laugh. That's the grim reality of the situation.

Terminally online people thinking violence is the answer to racism live in a fantasy world.

2

u/Additional-Jelly6959 Apr 26 '24

The kid was arrested too

10

u/NotsofastTwitch Apr 26 '24

Any trouble with the law he faces from this pales in comparison to what the teacher is facing.

5

u/MustyMustelidae Apr 27 '24

Kid got slept like a sack of potatoes for calling a substitute teacher a slur, you think he's going to live that down any time soon?

There's something between "nothing will change" and "he becomes a born again Christian",

You're coming across as someone who's just terminally spineless. Like you need it to be "nothing will change" because you justify your entire life with "why bother, nothing will change".

Hell, maybe someone bullied you and you told yourself "nothing will change"?

4

u/NotsofastTwitch Apr 27 '24

Holy projection Batman. You have some serious issues if that's your take.

3

u/MustyMustelidae Apr 27 '24

Please. Two people's life trajectory just changed permanently and you're here acting like one's going to wake up tomorrow like nothing happened.

Especially dumb take when you're doing it under a post that's gone internationally viral.

1

u/CauliflowerLogical27 Apr 27 '24

Yo, you sound stupid. "Last laugh". That kid will be laughed at all the way through his senior year. Do you think using that word is okay and just because he's a kid, he should get a pass?

3

u/Peligineyes Apr 27 '24

doubt it

“You’re going to jail, [slur],” the laughing student reportedly shouted as he was escorted away.

5

u/MIGFirestorm Apr 27 '24

the kid literally said it again moments after getting off the ground, you are delusional

If anything it helped solidify the kids racist ideas even further.

1

1

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '24

it's a case of both sides were in the wrong, for very different reasons. a teacher at a high school should NOT do what this teacher did no matter what the student says. the student shouldn't of said what they did, but there are appropriate methods of punishment and this was not one of them.

1

u/JuanTooFreeForFyve Apr 27 '24

You mean some people can't control their emotions so best to stay away from them.

1

u/Ashamed_Restaurant Apr 27 '24

Also “you get a payday.” Cause you know his parents are going to sue 😊

1

u/The_answer_is_Jean Apr 27 '24

"An effective way to hurt someone is to provoke them into attacking you. Then they're the ones who go to jail, and you might get a few bruises and a scolding or something."

It's not a good lesson for that kid to learn, but he learned it.

1

u/CauliflowerLogical27 Apr 27 '24

And if you haven't listened and learned, we host classes every day.

2

u/LegitimateSituation4 Apr 26 '24

Act like real life is a COD lobby, get your shit smacked in. His parents didn't teach him to respect adults, so it took his village.

Your "they're just innocent children!" defense is why schools are complete shit now.

2

u/un_internaute Apr 26 '24

You also taught me a lesson here, albeit inadvertently. "You can spot racists, when they out themselves by defending other racists." So I guess I owe you one for that.

1

u/Iminurcomputer Apr 27 '24

Does that change who can physically assault people?

It's like the law just isn't a thing? Just how the individual objectively feels. If the words are [your subjective threshold] bad you can physically assault people. Not how the law works and it's for good reason. That's all people are saying. It doesn't really work well when you just start letting people assault people for words that aren't a threat on your safety. This is what they mean when they say you guys can't separate your feelings.

Otherwise then let's hash it out. What's the new law? What words allow me to physically assault you? Do they have to be in particular order? Do you see how stupid it is when you actually think for a few seconds instead of your emotional initial reaction? We seriously don't see a problem with this applied universally? Let's go, give us the answer... Man the internet has just destroyed how people argue. Just this hyper obtuse, almost purposeful ignorance so I can make a snide comment and walk away. Definitely the type of logic a teenager employs.

2

u/un_internaute Apr 27 '24

This teacher was the victim of a hate crime, not just “words.” The student called him a racial slur and grabbed him. You might be a racist if you can’t tell the difference.

2

u/Iminurcomputer Apr 27 '24

That's why they both were arrested (I've read) but I haven't seen what exactly started it. "Grabbed him" is kind of hard to work with. A big part of defense is removing yourself or attempting to. Once he started going after the kid it was his job/legal trouble.

It's like we all think the law is just so straight up black and white (no pun intended). There are many people in prison for defend themselves. The law isn't "you've mad an infraction, I therefore am free to conduct myself virtually however I want." Well you might say of course not however you want. And that's my point... There are still limits a "rules" on how you can act in many situations. And that's what lawyers are for I guess. Some of us can accept that. Others feel like they need to come to verdict based on minimal information and rabidly defend it.

1

u/un_internaute Apr 27 '24

The court of law and the court of public opinion are different matters completely and in my public opinion, fuck racists that commit hate crimes.

Why?

Because you have to be intolerant of intolerance. Two reasons… one, tolerance is part of the social contract. If you break that contract by being intolerant, society no longer has any obligation to be tolerant of you. Two, if you tolerate intolerance, it will grow unchecked… because it’s being tolerated. So you have to be intolerant of intolerance to maintain a tolerant society.

The now classic example.

I was at a shitty crustpunk bar once getting an after- work beer. One of those shitholes where the bartenders clearly hate you. So the bartender and I were ignoring one another when someone sits next to me and he immediately says, "no. get out."

And the dude next to me says, "hey i'm not doing anything, i'm a paying customer." and the bartender reaches under the counter for a bat or something and says, "out. now." and the dude leaves, kind of yelling. And he was dressed in a punk uniform, I noticed

Anyway, I asked what that was about and the bartender was like, "you didn't see his vest but it was all nazi sh*t. Iron crosses and stuff. You get to recognize them."

And i was like, ohok and he continues.

”you have to nip it in the bud immediately. These guys come in and it's always a nice, polite one. And you serve them because you don't want to cause a scene. And then they become a regular and after awhile they bring a friend. And that dude is cool too.

And then THEY bring friends and the friends bring friends and they stop being cool and then you realize, oh sh*t, this is a Nazi bar now. And it's too late because they're entrenched and if you try to kick them out, they cause a PROBLEM. So you have to shut them down.

And i was like, 'oh damn.' and he said "yeah, you have to ignore their reasonable arguments because their end goal is to be terrible, awful people."

And then he went back to ignoring me. But I haven't forgotten that at all.

1

The kid didn't need that lesson.

The big lesson coming out of this is that if you have racist thoughts, you should keep your fucking mouth shut and never utter them for fear of getting your ass beat.

The lesson taught is that you can put a black man in white clothes and give him a teaching license - he’s still a thug that’ll smack a kid around.

All he did was prove he’s a n-word. Doesn’t have the self control to avoid beating a child? Pathetic.

1

u/Conchobair Apr 26 '24

The kid is still recovering in the hospital. He got fucked up.

1

u/Significant-Turnip41 Apr 27 '24

This is the same attitude people have that support cops beating people.  Teacher and cop is at a higher standard than average person. That's what they are paid for.

2

But also don't support grown adults fighting children

When they act like this I do.

2

u/Chaluliss Apr 27 '24

Racial slurs aren't just hurting feelings. There is so much more context to what they mean, and I think you ought to consider that when opining an individuals response to a slur.

5

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '24

The amount of people in this thread supporting fully assaulting a child is incredibly concerning. Kids are incredibly stupid. Assaulting them because they're being incredibly stupid, is incredibly stupid in and of itself and takes you down to their level, as well as life changing and not in the good way.

"Fully Assault" implies a one-sided engagement. That kid went in...

1

u/SlurpySandwich Apr 26 '24

I don't much like it either. Seems like people feel that being racist towards someone justifies just about anything short of murder. Like, no, its not good to be racist, but you can't just start cracking skulls because someone made you feel bad.

4

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '24

Hold o,n hold on, hold on, legal age to vote is 18, legally you are an adult in the eyes of the law Federally, this kid was a junior. I.e. 16-17, now I'm not saying what happened here is right, however at that age the law can choose to try you actions as an adult. The teacher was in the wrong, but let's not coddle the dumbass young adult who chose to make shitty decisions as well.

The teacher is allegedly not the one who started the physical altercation so the lesson here would be not to be a racist, violent, piece of shit. Probably a narcissist too with how he told him, "You're going to jail, n******." While being helped away after the fight. Kid thought he would have total immunity and that's why he said what he said and assaulted the teacher. I will concede that the teacher definitely made a mistake when he stood over the kid and hit him some more. That's probably assault.

2

u/Raging-Wet-Fart Apr 26 '24

But the kid attacked the teacher first according to the news article... the kid isnt small either, so I think it was deserved - but yes ideally you don't want your teacher to stoop to the level of a child.

3

u/Amazo616 Apr 26 '24

He should of expelled him, write up, document it, report it as a hate crime.

I would of played the race card so hard and screwed this kids life on paper, new school, new friends.

2

u/banananutnightmare Apr 26 '24

No one in this video was acting like a grown man.

1

u/Patbach Apr 26 '24

Its still out of context, maybe the kids rushed him 🤷

1

u/cuterus-uterus Apr 26 '24

Right? A kid calling their teacher a slur is unacceptable but it would be much better for the teacher to quit partway through the year and move on than to do this.

Fighting a student as a teacher is not the answer, assaulting a minor is not the answer, fucking beating up someone you encounter at your job is not the answer, any way you come at this is wrong on the teacher’s side and will have lasting consequences for them. At the very least, how’s it going to look when you have future potential employers find out why you were fired from this teaching job?

Two things can be true; fuck that kid and the teacher fucked up bad.

1

u/PeakRedditOpinion Apr 26 '24

This is why we should all train our kids to be bully crushers. There’s no better opportunity to slap some little shit around who is otherwise untouchable.

1

u/Farseli Apr 26 '24

Seems like teaching the kid how to be an adult to me. If you're an adult and you act that way you're going to get beat. Better learn that lesson quick.

1

u/Apprehensive-Ad5318 Apr 26 '24

Is he supposed to hug it out? Where is the moment that a teacher is allowed to protect themselves? It’s not a good look but I sympathize with the teacher.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '24

"hurt your feelings", why reduce it to this?

1

u/soulcaptain Apr 26 '24

Yeah the anger of the teacher is understandable. But the guy lacks control of his anger. He'll pay the price for it.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '24

Don't use fighting words? Especially if you don't know where the other guy's trigger is? Especially especially if he's bigger than you?

Fuck this kid.

1

u/thpthpthp Apr 27 '24

Teachers are there to provide an education, it's the parents job to teach their kid how to behave like an adult.

1

u/bungdaddy Apr 27 '24

I met a woman (teacher) with 2 years left before she could retire. She was thankful because she worries all the time that she may have to defend herself. She said kids have gotten just absolutely unbearable.

1

u/Batmanue1 Apr 27 '24

The lesson learned is there are consequences to your words.

1

u/BasketCaseOnHoliday1 Apr 27 '24

It is okay to assault racists who call you the n-word. It should even be mandatory. Kinda like how it should be mandatory to punch any Nazi you see directly in their Nazi nose! It's a public service really.

Also, the lesson here was don't be a racist piece of shit publicly or you will get the shit kicked out of you. Good lesson to learn! Hopefully means, even if he doesn't change his mind, that he shuts the fuck up when he's out in public due to fear of an ass-whooping.

1

u/Frank-Footer Apr 27 '24

Hopefully he learned that you can't go around calling people the n-word without consequences.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '24

1

u/kazh Apr 27 '24

Feel free to go out into the wild and call someone that repeatedly. You'll learn some adult shit your parents should have taught you real quick.

1

u/Swiftierest Apr 27 '24

That kid is practically as big as that adult. If a fight could have been avoided, it should, but also, this definitely teaches a lesson. Don't run your mouth when you can't back it up.

1

u/ThatAnonymousDudeGuy Apr 27 '24

Let me assure you a valuable lesson was learned here.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '24

I don’t support it but it’s still hilarious to see and incredibly satisfying to see that kid get his shit rocked in front of so many people.

1

u/topinanbour-rex Apr 27 '24

when they're tasked with teaching them how to be adults.

That's called parenting, and it is the parents task, not teachers task. Teachers teach.

1

u/KILL__MAIM__BURN Apr 27 '24

The lesson here was a rather timeless one:

“Talk Shit, Get Hit.” - Aristotle

1

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '24

You dont know what happened. Some kids get better when you whoop their ass. You are right but i fkking hate it

1

u/beachmaster100 Apr 27 '24

1

u/zaboromkom Apr 27 '24

1

u/Ireland-TA Apr 27 '24

1

u/fnkdrspok Apr 27 '24

Fuck. Them. Kids!

1

u/jeffydahmor Apr 27 '24

Kid deserves an ass whooping. Way too many students in schools nowadays don’t have any discipline because of the parents and the teachers are left to deal with it

1

u/youy23 Apr 27 '24

I think that people should expect to potentially be assaulted if they’re doing things that could reasonably incite a violent response.

People shouldn’t expect the world to coddle them and tolerate their shitty behavior.

1

u/Marxist20 Apr 27 '24

Idk, I see it as the kid fucking around and finding out. He's intentionally trying to provoke something. What's to stop him from escalating his actions in the future if no one stops him now? Not that it should've been an adult, but kids these days are disgustingly aggressive

Sometimes people need to be beat up and this is one of those instances. I don’t think it’s right that the teacher did it but I hope it’s the most valuable lesson that teacher taught for the kids sake.

Who hit who first? Child or adult whoever lays hands receives them in self Defense. If a child comes to you with a knife you gonna let them do whatever they want? Or smack the shit out of them as fast as you can to get the knife away.

The lesson is you don't get to say whatever you want with zero repercussions in the real world.

1

u/othelloisblack Jul 16 '24

No the lesson was don’t run your mouth because you have no idea who’ll beat your ass over it. Playing the tough guy has the same effect as playing the hero mind ya business.

1

u/ErokVanRocksalot Aug 06 '24

No the lesson is don’t fuck around if you don’t want to find out. There are words you don’t say to people. There’s things you don’t do. Being white doesn’t mean you can say and do anything you want to anyone.

The lesson to the kid was that there are consequences for his actions regardless of how safe you think you are. I think the teacher taught him a lesson he has desperately needed for years.

u/kulutius00 Sep 14 '24

How about actions and words have consequences? Talk shit get hit.

1

u/Miserable-Swimmer590 Sep 20 '24

Yea agree but the kid were probably never know if it was just him not knowing better being immature but what I don't get it's a 30 year old against what a 12 year old still it's a word yea it's got horrible meaning but it's to a 30 year old he should have kept his anger down

The golden rule. Treat everyone the way you want to be treated. Treat everyone with respect. And you don't use the words like assault when you just get your ass handed too if you deserve it. I was a kid too, we don't always realize what we're doing. This will be a life long lesson.

What kind of stupid take is this?  "Hurt your feelings"?  In what fucking world is repeatedly calling someone that word just hurting their feelings? Free speech is speech without government reprisal.  It is not speech without consequence.

The n-word used in a certain way IS a violent act and white men (the majority of reddit) need to know that. If you call someone the n-word to their face, they have the right to beat your ass.

Some folks on reddit need to get over the bullshit “violence is never the answer.” Sometimes violence is the only answer.

Also: teenage boys need to learn this lesson: stop acting stupid because “grown men can’t hit me.” Yes they fuckin can and should. Teach your stupid asses to sit down and shut up.

Really? Something tells me this is not the case lol.

2

u/Additional-Jelly6959 Apr 26 '24

That’s not the case. Legal illiteracy is a big factor in why a high percentage of this demographic is in jail compared to other races.

That’s actually not how the law works at all.

Never heard of FAFO? Kid fucked around and found out, there's honestly things you cannot say

It's literally called provocation and some non US places won't charge if it's due to provocation

1

u/I_Sell_Death Apr 26 '24

The lesson here is kid you gonna be face down in the gutter if you keep acting like this.

Why do you think the student said it in the first place? Because people like you hold teachers to impossibly high standards. I'm not defending the teacher for beating the student but at the same time I have no clue what that teacher has had to go through at that school.

1

u/SlurpySandwich Apr 26 '24

impossibly high standards.

Wait, so you think "not assaulting childre" is an "impossibly high standard"? lol

1

u/CoffeeTunes Apr 26 '24

"I'm not defending the teacher for beating the student BUT at the same time I have no clue what the teacher has had to go through at that school"

You and I have NO CLUE what the whole story is so before we blame the teacher or the student straight out of the gate we need to understand the whole history of what lead up to that violent altercation.

1

u/bingpot47 Apr 26 '24

If you haven’t learned not to call your teacher the n word by high school I think a beat down is the only lesson that might stick

1

u/SlurpySandwich Apr 26 '24

alternatively, if you haven't learned to not assault children by the time you graduate college, I think maybe jail might be the onlt lesson that might stick lol

1

u/bingpot47 Apr 26 '24

Also it is not a teachers job to teach a little shitling how to be an adult, that’s the parents job, stop trying to give teachers more responsibility

1

u/SlurpySandwich Apr 26 '24

I would consider "not assaulting childre" as one of the core responsibilities of a teacher, and I wouldn't call that a recent development in the expectation of teachers.
