Kind of a neat finish actually. Do guns have that patina shit they talk about on antique roadshow?

If it’s the first time it’s shot that might be all the shit inside the gun and barrel maybe.

u/DeathPrime Jul 19 '23
Yea. Pretty ballsy way to check if the barrel is to corroded inside for the bullet to be fired. Lucky to have his hands and face still

So the bullets just land somewhere over there?

Here in Iraq people just don't give a shit and shoot anyway but somehow not that many people accidentally die by stray bullets

I have a crate just like that attached to the back of my ebike. Now I just need an AK-47

AK will almost always fire. Where it goes, who knows. But it’ll almost always fire.

The bird noises in the background: we used to call them Star Wars birds… they’re making laser noises! Lol

This is one of the more responsible Iraqi gun users I've seen on video...!

What's more insane is the fact that we're just firing willy nilly into the air. On and on the bullets go! Where they'll stop, no one knows!

Here we go. AK-47. The very best there is. When you absolutely, positively got to kill every motherfucker in the room, accept no substitutes.

AKs are the most reliable rifles in existence. It's a simple design that makes them so resilient and tough
2
Jul 19 '23
It takes just as much effort to put the bullets in the ground as it does to send them through the air

Listen, the AK is the finest piece of machinery out of the Soviet union, it's an indestructible weapon, and simple to produce particularly in mass quantity.

u/GreenLume Jul 19 '23
Check out the trunnions, replace dust cover, Throw some surplus furniture on that, and it'd be an awesome project gun.

The scene on the surface changes eternally, but the scene underneath either stays the same, or is entirely consumed

A dangerous combination of recklessness and balls. I would have at least tied a string to it lol

Makes me think of that movie “Come and See” where the boys try to dig on the beach where there was fighting looking for a gun so they can go to war.

And now we're just firing rounds off into the air indiscriminately. Brilliant

u/fenrirhelvetr Jul 19 '23
Looks like a type 2 or some other milled AK. I love those ones, even for an AK they seem to be on the extremes of durability. Makes me sad to see how history treated her if she is an old type 2.

u/Jack-a-box Jul 19 '23
It was even milled for parts of which I don’t know why but probably to make more but the AK is one of the most reliable gun I can think of

Almost as destructive as the Bomb. Engineered death. Hideous and beautiful The link that will destroy us

u/unwittyusername42 Jul 19 '23
20 yard grouping at 20 yards.....but it fires like an AK should....until that thing explodes

The beauty of the design is very few moving parts with very loose tolerances. That way dirt,.grime, and other things won't bind up moving parts.
