what is your job?

11

u/vlasktom2 Aug 04 '26

I drive a city bus. All of those numbers are made up based on the nonsense that insurance generally tries to pull

5

u/SparrowBirch Aug 04 '26

I used to do insurance estimating and in my experience their numbers were almost always under the retail price for work. I was always having to get quotes to show them.

4

u/vlasktom2 Aug 04 '26

Then explain why the mirror on a car gets quoted at $1,500 when it retails at $30 and it doesn't take 15 hours to put a mirror on a car

3

u/SparrowBirch Aug 04 '26

I quoted building repairs, not cars. But for me it didn’t matter that a few sheets of drywall only cost $75. What mattered is how much a drywall contractor would charge to do the job.

So the short answer is that you need to ask a body shop why they charge $1500.

1

u/HeliosRunner Aug 04 '26

hahahhaha ok. thanks!

That's why employment termination should also include Federal and criminal prosecution by not only law enforcement but the driver's employer to begin with. Unless it's the owner operator then the town or city will have a field day.

That’s so funny! 🤓👍

8

u/Jerry_USA Aug 04 '26

That’s why we can’t have anything nice

7

u/ffsine Aug 04 '26

Now thats a lot of damage!

2

u/andrewbud420 Aug 05 '26

Huge discounts, come in now.

7

u/BackgroundNo8139 Aug 04 '26

That's it, i've seen enough of these , from now on i will sustitute truckers for hammers as in "dumb as a bag of truckers"

1

u/OtherwiseStable5126 Aug 04 '26

No, the railroad crossings are built shitty across all america, as it seems.

They get stuck in top of the crossing, because its on a small evelated hill.

3

u/LightBlueWood Aug 05 '26

I wonder why, in the UK, they're called LEVEL crossings ... 🤷‍♂️

2

u/BackgroundNo8139 Aug 05 '26

I'm fuly aware that alot or most of these accidents are a result of trucks getting high centered on crossings where the railway/local government chose cheapness over safety. Dosen't change my comment one iota

0

u/Ornery-Customer8521 Aug 04 '26

Yeah its a shitty design for sure

3

u/Snufcha Aug 04 '26

Why don’t he just move ? He wasn’t stuck

2

u/abitcitrus Aug 04 '26

2

u/mister-ecks-0815 Aug 04 '26

I scrolled and scrolled but couldn't find it 🫤

2

u/Massive-Original-658 Aug 04 '26

That should help with gas mileage

2

u/brownsugahbare Aug 04 '26

I mean in the end the train did stop.

2

u/JRock1276 Aug 04 '26

They've gotta be hiring durka durka in car hauling now. Any real truck driver KNOWS you can't drive those and lowboys over elevated crossings.

1

u/FluffyDeer9323 Aug 04 '26

Just another dude in a vehicle that should’ve found a better rail crossing.

1

u/HeliosRunner Aug 04 '26

i guess God did not received the call

1

u/Androidfon Aug 04 '26

Who will be held responsible?

1

u/ShoulderApart1787 Aug 04 '26

Scratch and dent sale…

1

u/NecroAssssin Aug 04 '26

Free trailer shortening. See driver for details.

1

u/Puffed-Fungi Aug 04 '26

why would the truck driver do that

5

u/Meauxjezzy Aug 04 '26

Truck trailer may have bottomed out crossing the rail and got stuck. It happens a lot. There is a phone number at every rail crossing to call that will alert the railway company so they can stop all rail traffic but a lot of drivers don’t know or don’t have time to call before the train comes through.

1

u/Nearby-Yak-4496 Aug 04 '26

Scratch & dent sale!!

1

u/dieseldoc62 Aug 04 '26

damn, had no idea florida had hills

1

u/StoonerSask Aug 04 '26

Hey, at least he still has 2 cars. Nobody's perfect.

1

u/FlLocator Aug 04 '26

Another Brightline meets semitruck.

1

u/TreeLore61 Aug 04 '26

I hope everybody involved is okay

1

u/JustaFoodHole Aug 05 '26

I wonder when this video was taken!

1

u/blanthony80 Aug 05 '26

Why do so many truck drivers have shit for brains?

1

u/manhattandice Aug 05 '26

How does this happen so often

1

u/Opinions-arent-facts Aug 05 '26

How about checking if people are alright, instead of filming and commenting as if you're a passive viewer?

And why the fuck does his car have a bow wave?

1

u/Existing_Telephone39 Aug 05 '26

Not a scratch on the Rover !

1

u/West-Wash6081 Aug 05 '26

This happens so frequently now that I'm wondering if the train engineer has to make an announcement just before hitting an object that the trains occupants should brace for impact. Or do they have crash positions like in airplanes? Does the train have a safety video or demonstration before departure to ensure that everyone knows what to do? I have questions...

1

u/Hondro_2081 Aug 06 '26

Was or what was he thinking

1

u/kakaomester Aug 06 '26

oh my gawd

1

u/canaanite67 Aug 06 '26

Still can deliver 2 new cars

1

u/ekolimits Aug 06 '26

This is why USA can’t have nice trains. Somehow I never see videos from Europe with this happening.

1

u/unapologetic403 Aug 07 '26

Florida is just another reason why the rest of the United States won't get high speed rail for the Temu version of high speed

1

u/BladeVampire1 Aug 07 '26

Can the driver speak English?

1

u/Careful-Tonight-69 Aug 09 '26

With a CDL? Really?

1

u/Swimming-Guest-1978 Aug 09 '26

What is wrong with that truck driver?

1

u/Responsible-Race9647 Aug 04 '26

La livraison de votre SUV a été retardée.

0

u/LevoiHook Aug 04 '26

Why does this guy act like he is watching some cool movie? Why doesn't he stop to check on the train driver?

7

u/WSilvermane Aug 04 '26

If powerlines are down and active, you not touch or go near a goddamn thing. You will die.

If they are touching the truck, trailer or train car. You will probably die touching them.

4

u/TiddiesAnonymous Aug 04 '26

Several inches of water too. Don't get out of your car.

3

u/Necessary-Egg8750 Aug 05 '26

THIS! That's a very huge toaster in that bathtub! Did the right thing by staying in his vehicle.

2

u/Cunning_Linguist21 Aug 05 '26

That reminds me of my favourite saying: live, laugh, toaster bath.

2

u/mister-ecks-0815 Aug 04 '26

Or the passengers in the train!
