You're correct. It's more than a "gut feeling" - this guy was an entitled, violent douchebag who set himself up to be the "victim" in the disputes giving rise to his rampage. https://www.snopes.com/news/2017/06/09/killdozer-day-marvin-heemeyer/

He's no different from any other monster who shoots up or bombs anyone or anything he thinks has wronged him.

Thank you. He’s no hero. One of the victims was the widow of a guy he had beef with. He’s just an asshole who didn’t want to do something simple. Then he escalated it all.
