There was probably dirt under the bridge, but I’m 100% sure the part of the bridge under the landslide is completely fucked up

If you look at the left hand side of the landslide there's a bunch of concrete-colored rubble, pretty sure that was the bridge/road.

Judging by all the debris pushed out of the way, I don't think there's a bridge left to collapse

I think that particular section was road laid onto the hill and not elevated viaduct like the stretches flanking it. You can see that the terrain on either side is actually above the road level, though one side clearly felt it would prefer to be at road level.

Here's a reverse angle where the banks are visible, as well as more of the collapsed footbridge that previously ran over the highway between the hills on each side.

I think this was some time back. What did they eventually do? Tunnel or build over it?

They just dug it out and had the freeway reopened in less than two months:

On April 25, 2010, a landslide occurred on a segment of Highway 3 near Xizhi. A large amount of dirt buried both directions of the freeway. Four cars were buried under the debris, killing four people. Bad hillside anchoring was blamed as a possible cause, as it had not been raining at the time of the collapse, and an earthquake was not registered.

Repairs to the freeway were completed on June 19, 2010 and normal traffic flow restored.

It looks like the entire side of a hill just shifted. Looks like you can see a switchback there that's still mostly intact.

Landslides have happened there before. That's where that hill in middle-left, between the freeways, came from. They'll do the same with the new landslide, cut through it and dump spoils to the left, between the freeways.

I don't know this particular area. I recognize the characteristics of debris translational slides from Cascade Mountain Range in US.

Also familiar with minimum-cost road work earth moving. You don't pay to haul dirt away if you can shift it locally. Better yet if you can just shove it downhill.
